Has anyone been asymptomatic the first time then had it badly next time round?

DH has covid currently. Picked up on a LFT 6 days ago and confirmed by PCR. He has tested positive on LFT every day since then but has no symptoms.

He hasn't had it previously (that we know of). Although, DD and I were ill with a fever and cough in January 2020. We caught it from FIL who came back with it from NYE celebrations in Vienna. DH didn't catch the cough or fever but lost his sense of taste and smell, though we didn't think much of it at the time as it wasn't a known symptom (and covid wasn't known to be in Europe at the time). We will never know if it was covid.

Anyway, throughout this my biggest fear for our family is that DH and I will both be too ill simultaneously to look after the kids. It would be nice to know that if he catches it again, or if he catches a different variant, he is less likely to be floored by it if he's already had it asymptotically.

Does anyone have experience of this?

Dh had asymptomatic Covid in oct and now has symptomatic Covid. We both have it and he’s actually worse than me.
I just have a sore throat and bunged up nose atm so I’m carrying on as normal at home (just being a bit slower/lazier)

@Passthecake30 sorry to hear that. Do you mind me asking what your husband's symptoms are like?

He’s been achy, coughing, sneezing, snotty, nauseous, headaches, ears hurt. Worse of it seems over now though. He’s on day 6 now, and still coughing a bit. I made him stay upstairs in the bedroom for a few days (including most of Xmas day) due to the level of coughing and sneezing. However, if he HAD to look after kids he could have done, I just wanted him out of the way. It’s not been as bad as flu for him.

In comparison I’ve just got a dry/scratchy throat and semi bunged up/semi runny nose, I’m a few days behind him though.

Ugh, I'm sorry. I hope you both feel better soon.
