DH positive, I’m negative with same symptoms?

Yesterday DH came over with a fever, burning hot to touch, headache, backache, couldn’t get warm (despite burning up), tested positive on LFT today. I’ve had the same symptoms (temperature hasn’t been as bad however) and I’m negative on LFT (I test every day).
Going for a PCR tomorrow. Is it likely my lateral flows are just wrong?!

I’m shocked that so many people don’t understand that LFT’s are for people who don’t have symptoms? Haven’t we been told this 1000 times?

I tested negative on a LFT, took a PCR and it was positive.

If you have symptoms you should not rely on a LFT, take a PCR.

I'm on day 4 tested positive but lft are negative

My understanding (but I might wrong) is that LFTs would indicate if someone is infectious to others. So some people may well be infected but not infectious. And a LFT wouldn't pick that up. Apart from the very high margin of error these tests have anyway.

There's been stories in the papers advising people do lft on nose and throat as omicron isn't showing for some people on just nasal swabs.

DD's lft was negative on the first day that she was really unwell (ds and I already positive so knew what it was).
