WWYD? Picking DC up, their Dad tested positive

ExH and I have a terrible relationship, very little communication. He was having DC 10 and 6 from 23rd -31st December. I got a call from DD at 9am to pick them up, their dad has covid. He lives 40 miles away.
I have picked them up but it occurred to me as I arrived that if it’s the Omicron variant, my DC should probably isolate. Is this the case and if so, for how long? TIA (his gf dropped them off, I have tested them really regularly recently because of family get-togethers and DD had covid at the end of November, too young for vaccination if any of that is relevant).

Contact NHS test and protect and ask them. The advice varies from country to country but I would advise PCR tests too.

the advice now is no close contact isolation because they are under 18, pcr and lf each day for 7 days. Isolate if any of those tests are positive.

ColettesEarrings · 26/12/2021 15:10

In England they don't need to isolate as they're under 18, but ought to do daily lfts for 7 days. They don't have to get a pcr under the latest guidance but is be inclined to arrange one for tmrw anyway.

Branleuse · 26/12/2021 15:16

you shouldnt have really picked them up. It would have made much more sense for them to isolate at their dads with him

Notwashingup · 26/12/2021 15:38

I just spent 15 minutes to get through to 119, then they cut me off! I’ll ring back.
@Branleuse I know I shouldn’t but I couldn’t leave them there, they would have been miserable.
