Positive twice in one month

I tested positive on a pcr at the start of December. My laterals were negative on day 1, 2, and 11. I wasn't too ill. Had a cough, fatigue and some chest discomfort.

I've woken up this morning feeling like I've got the flu. Just done a lateral and it's positive.

I've got a pcr booked. But it looks like I've been reinfected doesn't it?

Cold has cleared up, but I'm exhausted. I've spent most the day in bed.

The guidance is super clear - I honestly think this is part of the problem, that people just don't read it properly or remember main points but not everything. Don't take another PCR within 90 days of a positive unless you have new symptoms, which the OP does. Bit scary how many people don't realise this and are probably blithely walking around with a second Covid infection because they think they don't have to test again within 90 days!

Totally agree. I think part of the reason for the current high rates is people mistakenly believing you can't get it again within 90 days.

Sorry you’ve got it again, you can get delta last month and then omicron this month. Some people have both concurrent.

I think my household is in this position….I tested positive at the beginning of the month- had a mild case. I gave it to DH who then had covid with cold symptoms- came out of isolation a week ago, and was testing negative on lateral flows. Four days later DS (6) tested positive and then DD (8) tested positive on chrismtas day. Today DH did a lateral flow to check as he had a dry throat and couldn’t sleep last night- his has a faint line. We think the kids caught omicron and are now passing it to us- we are stuck in never ending isolation. I feel like it’s incubating in me- I feel low energy, have a dry throat, and wierd achey twinges in random places. Aaareggghhh- when is this going to end????

Hope no one minds me re-hashing this thread. Four of us in our house of 5 had Covid in the lead up to Christmas. I tested positive on 18th December and its been nearly 2 weeks since i came out of isolation (10 days for me). Have tested negative since. My son who dodged it in the house has gone back to school last week and tested positive over the weekend with symptoms. Today I’ve woken up with achy lower back, feeling a bit hot but no temp, exactly the first symptoms I had last month…. Tested negative on lft today… i surely cant be getting it again in this time frame?!
