Booster side effects

I had my booster on Saturday afternoon. I feel terrible today. Really nauseous, headache, not really with it. I'm wondering if this is side effects or something else, given its a whole 4 days later. I know no-one can really tell me, but just wondered if anyone had experienced similar.

Ah. I'm coming up to jab+5 and the side effects kicked in at Jab+1 and the muscle pains aren't easing up

yaboreme · 23/12/2021 21:41

I'm 4 days post jab and feel shocking. I didn't feel too bad afterwards (Sunday 2:30pm).

Slowly but surely getting more tired, today I have achy legs and back, fuzzy head, just feel so off and unwell and soooooo tired. Like flu symptoms I guess.

I do have a cold too, stuffy nose etc. so that probably isn't helping.

I'm starting to wonder if it is actually the jab or whether I'm getting covid? LFT negative, however just checked one from earlier and there's a slight line?

Booked a pcr for tomorrow which I'm guessing is pretty pointless as no one will be working to send me the result?

SpiderFluff · 23/12/2021 21:45

@yaboreme that is so reassuringly like what I have. I have done an LFT a day as I feel so ill

CaptainMarvelDanvers · 23/12/2021 21:48

I had the first two vaccines but what’s stopping me from the booster is that currently I’m not allowed to book annual leave and I don’t get paid sick pay. I’m on a low wage and every penny counts.

If I could book annual leave, I would have booked time off to get it done, and to deal with any side effects.

YourVagesty · 23/12/2021 21:49

One of my colleagues broke out with shingles after getting their booster.

Apparently, it can lie dormant until something gives your system a bit of a jolt.

yaboreme · 23/12/2021 21:58

@SpiderFluff can I ask what vaccine you had? I had Pfizer. I feel like I'm panicking abit now too which adds to it. Like I say I booked a pcr tomorrow but guessing it's pointless.

Did yours come on 4 days later?

(Sorry if you have already mentioned, my heads fuzzy)

jacqelinedaniels · 23/12/2021 21:59

Had my booster last Saturday (Pfizer) and felt odd for days. Woozy, lightheaded, slight runny nose,
intermittent headache, but the worst thing definitely the wooziness. Finally felt fully normal today though felt slightly dizzy after one alcoholic drink this evening so maybe it’s still lurking. Negative lfts all week.

Selok · 23/12/2021 22:01

I had my booster Tuesday evening last week, nailed to bed for next three days- had terrible headache and the whole body ache and nausea, couldn't eat anything I was back to normal on the 4th day-just yet!

I had 2 x pfizer fine then my booster was moderna. No mine started day after. Its day 4 today. I think.. I'm also a bit fuzzy headed.

generalh · 23/12/2021 22:05

I have a lymph node swelling on my clavicle. Went to doctor's today. Having antibiotics, bloods and an urgent scan (within 2 weeks) in case it isn't linked with the booster I had on Tuesday. Doctor erring on the side of caution.

yaboreme · 23/12/2021 22:07

@SpiderFluff I've had 3 x Pfizer. I think I started to feel a little off too but I have cold and put it down to that, gradually feel worse and today feel zapped of energy and just 'weird' and achy.

Hope you start to feel better soon

AlbertBridge · 23/12/2021 22:12

I had 2xModerna back in the summer. Felt knackered the next day after both of them, but drinking booze perked me up!

Had Pfizer booster yesterday. The jab hurt, and my arm is heavy and sore, but I feel fine. Was tired yesterday, and had a very early night, but fine now. 🤞🏻

PartyPrawnRingGames · 23/12/2021 22:15

I also had a cold when I got my booster and now feeling absolutely awful I did look up if you can get the booster if you have a cold and it said yes but it may make you feel worse. I didn't want to put off my booster but wish I had.

LaBelleSausage · 23/12/2021 22:22

Had the moderna booster Friday.

Saturday I was ok aside from a sore arm and a huge red mark around it. Sunday every part of my body ached, and since then I have had a break out of boil like spots plus a coldsore (haven't had a coldsore in years).
Plus a splitting headache for the last 4 days.

Assume it's my immune system being very run down?

yaboreme · 23/12/2021 22:36

@PartyPrawnRingGames ah, this may be where i went wrong. I had a bit of a stinker when I had it....

It's always hard to know what is the right thing to do.

PartyPrawnRingGames · 23/12/2021 22:46

@yaboreme yes you can't know for sure but it's really wiped me out and I wouldn't risk it in future if we need boosters again.

CrumpledCrumpet · 23/12/2021 22:49

Moderna after 2 x Az and I started feeling rough after about 12 hours. 24-36 hours were the worst, could have happily laid in bed all day (nausea, feverish, achy) though paracetamol did help. 48hours feel ok - still a little tired and achy, arm still sore and swollen armpit.

Rainbows89 · 23/12/2021 22:51

I had my booster 5pm Monday. It was my third Pfizer.

I felt fine the next day but yesterday and today I’ve just felt kinda fatigued and been lying on the sofa this afternoon.

Hoping I feel back to normal tomorrow.

Goofbawl · 23/12/2021 22:57

Not me but DH - was taken to hospital 48 hours after his Moderna booster to check for possible heart attack. All tests and bloods came back clear but he’s still not right 6 days later. Spent today wiped out on the sofa after a morning walk today. LFTs negative so far.

Wankerchief · 24/12/2021 09:48

I’m 24 hours in and still no side effects. I do feel tired but I’ve worked 10 hour shifts 9 days in a row so it could equally be that to be fair.

HPFA · 29/12/2021 15:26

really heavy and prolonged periods after being post menopausal for over a year

@Iheartmysmart

Don't want to scare you but I presume you had this checked out? Happened to me too after the jabs- really hoping it doesn't occur after the booster as I'm probably now over the time limit where they don't feel the need to recheck!

Iheartmysmart · 29/12/2021 15:36

@HPFA Thank you, yes I did get checked out and there is nothing to be concerned about apparently. GP said it may have been a coincidence or jab related. All seems to have returned to normal now thankfully.
