Covid - LFT still positive day 10

I’m confused by the latest guidance.

In England from today you can come out of isolation early with two negative lateral flow tests. If your lateral flow test is still positive on day 10, you still come out of isolation providing you have no fever. Recommendation is not to test for 90 days after you’ve had Covid as it can still test positive.

How would you know if potentially you’re still able to spread it after day 10? No fever (haven’t had one at all) just bunged up & can’t smell (I understand this can last for weeks after covid). LFT still shows faint positive.

On another thread someone has quoted an article saying that studies have been unable to find patients still infectious after day 9.

Another posted shared a screenshot of the guidance (from before this morning) on gov.uk which says after 10 days don't worry if you still have a cough/affected taste and smell, you can come out of isolation

There can be a line for a while so the early release from isolation isn't going to happen for a lot of people. I have heard of people getting a line for several weeks afterwards! I know a few people who have been aysymptomatic with covid and they had a line for weeks. I know people with symptoms who have no line within their isolation period.
