When did you test negative on a LTF?

I tested positive this morning and was wondering if anyone tracked their lateral flows? How long did you test positive on them for?

I know you aren't meant to but I'm guessing people have and just curious!

My kids stopped testing positive with Delta by day 4.

AD80 · 22/12/2021 08:54

I'm on last day of isolation and I still had a faint line 2 days ago. No like this morning.

Dp had a line for a few days after the isolation period. Despite that he had barely any symptoms.

Dd is on day 8/9 and still has a very strong line despite being asymptomatic!

Summer70 · 22/12/2021 09:39

So how come school kids were told not to LFT for 90 days post covid as it could still show positive? My DH is day 15 after covid - but still positive in LFT. He’s completely better but does that mean he’s still infectious? I’m confused & a bit concerned!!

MyKidsThrowFood · 28/12/2021 22:55

@Summer70 I have had the same experience and so has my husband. We are still getting faint positive lines on LFTs and it’s 11 days since positive PCR… we have gone to visit family as planned but I keep feeling nervous… what did your DH do?

tigerbear · 29/12/2021 23:44

DD had a very weird situation - tested negative last Monday, positive LFT and positive PCR on Wednesday, then negative LFT’s for 5 days (less than 48 hours after testing positive). So she had Covid for less than 48 hours!

tigerbear · 29/12/2021 23:46

DD had already Covid, just over 90 days ago, so wondering if it could be residual from that, which didnt show up on LFT, but did on the PCR…

SunburstsOrMarbleHalls · 30/12/2021 03:27

Me and visiting DD went for a PCR on 23rd as I had symptoms and she had received a close contact notification and was a bit worried as my parents are very elderly and have serious health issues. DD tested positive she has remained completely asymptomatic and does not have so much as a sniffle.

She had a LFT every day in the 7 days before her PCR due to meeting up with friends, she did a LFT on the day she got her positive PCR result (25th) and everyday since - all negative.

Ordinarily she LTF 3 times per week - when she is due in the office or meeting up with others and has always tested negative.

So far the rest of the family have all tested negative on LFT.

I tested positive on Saturday morning, tested again tonight (curious) and I'm completely negative! My daughter who also tested positive same time as me is still positive. Hopefully day 6&7 will be ok 🤞

carlygirly · 05/01/2022 20:55

Positive on Thursday, negative by Tuesday. Tested every day around this.

Kitkat151 · 05/01/2022 20:58
**@trackand* @TangoTarantella* did they go gradually faint or were there clearly one day and gone the next?

Hope you're both feeling okay!
My son in laws got fainter then disappeared at day 7

toksvig · 05/01/2022 21:00

Still strongly positive day 9

Daisychainsandglitter · 05/01/2022 21:06

I'm really interested to hear about everyone's experiences.
On day 5 now and just feel like I have a mild cold now. Really hoping I test negative days 6 and 7 so I can get out and about again. I'm not hopeful though as my positive lateral flow on Saturday was really hear and came up immediately so would be surprised (but very pleased) if it disappears quickly. I've got my fingers crossed though 🤞

Bobbylola123 · 05/01/2022 21:14

U will be surprised, like I say I tested positive Saturday morning and I even tested last night out of curiosity on how long it takes to test negative and was still a bright red second line, tested again tonight and completely negative! I was so surprised! I've had hardly any symptoms only like a very mild cold, bad headache has been the worst for me

Daisychainsandglitter · 06/01/2022 13:25

Day 6 and still very positive although feel ok. Really annoyed.

Anawi · 06/01/2022 15:33

Mine went really pale days 7 and 8, was hoping theyd be negative day 9, nope went really string again. Day 11 now, so officially out of isolation, but still positive and still feeling a bit rough. In theory I'm fine to go out and about as have no fever (that's the only symptom I was told to stay isolating for after 10 days) but I certainly dont ffeel like I could go and hug my mum or dad right now! Sad

Anawi · 06/01/2022 15:34

Sorry, excuse the typos

CovidCurious · 06/01/2022 16:28

Never got a PCR (none available) but have been testing daily as a friend gave me a load of LFTs that expire soon, so I may as well use them.

Tested negative finally on day 10 (was faint positive days 8 and 9) then faint positive day 11 and negative day 12 (today). I felt noticeably tired on day 11 and had a horrific night sweat. Feeling much better today.

LethargeMarg · 06/01/2022 16:33

Mine was a strong positive today (day 9) and I was fed up as yesterday was a very faint positive so assumed it would be negative today It seems very strange that the viral load can go up and down at the end of the infectious period - surely it should keep reducing ?
LethargeMarg · 06/01/2022 16:35

@toksvig

Still strongly positive day 9
Me too- fed up Can I ask if you've tested today? I know I've only got one more day but I have to report my day ten result to work and really hoping it's negative Plus feel like I'll then be able to relax / I'm still using separate towels and sorting washing and cleaning in rubber gloves just in case
toksvig · 06/01/2022 19:17

Still faint positive today Day 10 but feeling pretty good. I've declared myself free.

pollyparrot45 · 06/01/2022 19:21

Day 12 for me

SmallestInTheClass · 06/01/2022 20:19

Strong positive day 6 and faint on day 9. Didn't bother with day 10 as will be out of isolation and very unlikely infectious by then. Why are people testing after day 10? Is it just if you have to for work? Otherwise isn't it a waste of tests?

samks · 06/01/2022 22:35

I’m on day 11, but still got a faint line. My 5yo is day 10 and still had a faint line on day 8 - he has had no symptoms other than fever for 12 hours at the start. 2 yo still very strong positive on day 8. H negative on day 11.

Passthecake30 · 06/01/2022 22:40

I had a fairly dark line on day 8 so didn’t bother testing any more as assumed I wouldn’t be getting out early.

pollyparrot45 · 07/01/2022 09:12

@SmallestInTheClass tested after day 10 as I was waiting for an appointment at the EPU & they asked me to wait until I was testing negative to minimise risk to other pregnant women.

Also I work in emergency services & once you test negative they make you resume twice weekly testing
