It was most likely the Delta variant. He's coughing but feeling well otherwise. We're waiting for his PCR and am wondering how likely it is that he has Covid now? It was rife in his school last week and his cousin who he played with on Saturday has also tested positive since Sad.

How likely that he has covid if he had it last year?

It would likely have been alpha if he had it last Christmas, delta didnt appear til April I believe. So it's perfectly possible that he could catch delta or omicron now (we are celebrating our second Christmas w COVID so I tend to look on the pessimistic side).

my dd had covid last Christmas. Then again in July.
DS currently unwell (although now mostly fully better since yesterday!)with positive lateral flow, awaiting pcr result so its looking like another covid Christmas for us!

I'd say (unfortunately) it is quite likely. A year between infections is quite a long time.

Sadly quite likely. Antibodies from a year ago are both long gone and not terribly relevant anyway to omicron. I just hope none of you are badly affected OP.
