Covidy Christmas isolation plans

An attempt at an upbeat thread for those isolating on Christmas Day

There will be two adults and two children on the day. I had time to edit my Ocado shop so now our Christmas dinner is basically anything left in stock that is pre-prepared. I’m really looking forward to the indulgence of it but hope I’ll be able to taste it!
There are enough presents in the house for the kids to have a special day and enough elsewhere that they will continue to nice things once we are out of isolation.
I now have an excuse not to worry about the dusting Grin

Does anyone have any other ideas of how they plan to make the most of the day?

We didn’t have time to edit our Ocado shop, so we will mostly be eating. A lot. So far, thankfully, nobody’s lost their sense of taste.

We were gutted at our positive test results in Sunday at first, not only because we were looking forward to being with both sets of parents but also because my father just got diagnosed with cancer and is expecting his operation right after Christmas and I won't be able to look after him as I was supposed to.
However, my cousin has stepped in to look after my dad and we now have our first ever Christmas with just me DH, DD4 and DD6. I am desperate for a rest and Covid has ensured I get that. Luckily gifts are brought and wrapped and fridge is full. We will be making the most of it once we feel better. Board games, films, colouring in, jig saws, buffet.....fingers crossed for snow in the back garden 🤞
Did you consider a take away for Christmas Eve?
We will deal with deal with the sad stuff in the new year.

Sorry to read you're isolating, but great idea for a thread!

I have to go into work in hospitality today and tomorrow, so a bit nervous and half assuming I'll get it before Christmas at this rate! So watching this for tips. Trying to get wverything in now in preparation.

Tested positive this morning. It'll be me, DH and two DC. Gutted we won't get our usual Xmas walk, especially if it snows, but I had time to amend our guosto order and order a Tesco delivery for this morning. (tomorrow is ds's last day of isolation so we anticipated the rest of us getting it!)
I'm CEV though, and wondering how this new covid treatment works! Hopefully it'll be done before Xmas day !

How old are your DC?

We will be isolating. Dc 11,9,&7. We are going to play lots of bored games/video games. They all have a lego gift which we can build to keep busy. Will watch some of the julia donaldson films on iplayer.
Tesco shop arrived today and christmas dinner is sorted although I have no sense of smell or taste at all Xmas Hmm
Have plenty of presents here for them and just all hoping to be able to see people when isolation ends!

I’ll be isolating with DCs - my elderly father was going to come over but that’s off now 😩 however , We are quite happy to be at home with Christmas films etc and everything else is done and ready

We have an 8 year old and a 17 year old. I can still taste and smell, and I will be absolutely raging if I can't taste my Xmas dinner! (We are having beef rib)

we are currently awaiting pcr results after ds (13) yesterday had a headache, a temp and a positive lateral flow test. (He is now totally fine, but am expeciting apositive result)
So far no one else is symptomatic and lateral flows are negative.
But we will all be here just us for Christmas - which was always the plan anyway so all good. My student dc are home from uni, and my oldest son is home from abroad so we will all hunker down together and avoid the rest of the world! Really glad we have got each other at least. Have a shopping delivery due tomorrow, got loads of snacky bits already, plenty of alcohol stashed in the shed and presents all bought and wrapped, so were about as prepared as we could have been thank goodness!
