To go or not to go?

So I have a much needed mummy daughter day planned later this week to go to winter wonderland. I have never been but daughter has wanted to go for a couple of years. I have booked some things such as the circus. Plan would be to go early. We live in London so go via tube.
We don't get much one on one time together as myself and DH work opposite shifts and life is hectic at home with 2 siblings and looking after my elderly mum.

Plans for Xmas are at home just with household which is DH, 2x DS and my elderly mum. All adults in the house are triple vaccinated. No kids are vaccinated as too young.

I am undecided about going. I am not particular anxious about Covid, work in frontline healthcare so tend to see first hand what's coming and so far all I have seen is more people with Covid but not many seriously ill and no increase in patient getting admitted.

However others have planted seeds of doubt in my mind that I am missing something and think I am crazy to still go as it will be a cesspit of Covid!!

What would you do?

Fear is contagious isn’t. Or maybe it’s a mass hysteria. You should defo trust your own instincts.

Lovemusic33 · 21/12/2021 20:15

I would go 😊
Hope you have a great time with your dd.

I had a trip to London last weekend. A trip that had been delayed for 2 years thanks to lockdown. I felt safe and wore a mask. We have developed no symptoms so I am very glad we went

We didn't go to our planned winter wonderland trip on Sunday, also booked circus etc. We were going to drive and park but still decided against it.

Yes time with your daughter is precious, it sounds like you have planned a lovely day, don’t let others hysterics and fear mongering take that away from you.

I plan to go post Xmas. It's outside. The tube you can wear masks and travel in quieter times / get off at a quieter station and walk over. Have a wonderful time.

We are going this week. We have decided to drive and park close by. It’s outside, supposedly reduce capacity due to the ticketing system, a few people have been put off my omicron, the media, and some because they don’t want to do the covid passes. So I’m hoping it’ll be less busy. Just have to be sensible, wear masks, sanitise. Any other illness or accident could cause any of us to loose our lives before our time, need to start living not hiding away. Go, be sensible and have fun

Go and enjoy.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Have decided to go, my daughter would be devastated to miss it. We have already had a play date cancelled this week due to fear of Covid! My gut I know it'll be fine and like you @Pinkstar28 am hoping it might be less crowded.

@SweetBabyCheeses99 you're right this fear is contagious! I just felt like I was looking over my shoulder thinking am I missing something?
