Just had my booster and really proud of myself

Hi everyone.

Don't want to share this with many people IRL as I'm embarrassed but I just had my booster at a walk in clinic. I suffer hugely from anxiety and especially queues. Each time I have had to leave the queue briefly but I managed to get my jab done and I'm so pleased. The staff were brilliant, and understanding. I couldn't get an appointment until early Jan so it was hanging over me before Christmas.

Just a handhold to all those in the same boat

Happy Christmas xx

Yay well done!

I totally get it. My ds has asd and is scared of injections. He also finds masks difficult and wears when when necessary for shortest time needed.

Him having his at a vaccination centre was a big deal. By the third it's bigger. People don't get that. Mustering up the strength once is hard. But mustering it time and time again knowing how much you struggled last time is exhausting.

Now treat yourself BrewCake

Well done!

Well done - I have huge admiration for you!

The most brave people are those who are scared, but step forward to do the right thing anyway. 😸

Ooops random smiley cat

Well done boosted people!

Suggestions2021 · 21/12/2021 14:10

Thank you very much everyone for your lovely kind words. A shout out to my brilliant husband who held my place whilst I ran off to use the loo!

To answer the pp who asked about what was worse the jab or the anxiety, the answer is anxiety. I do not have needle phobia (I know this is extremely serious), I have IBS and anxiety and find waiting in line for anything at all very difficult.

Flowers to everyone else who has either been through the same or supported someone in a similar situation.

X

Nice one!

HadEnoughOfBears · 22/12/2021 20:36

Well done, you should be very proud of yourself. Now you can look forward to Santa / Father Christmas coming down your chimney 😜

Good work @Suggestions2021

We're all proud of you too.

Just between us, the whole vaccine centre process gives me some kind of heebies too. I find it just as stressful taking an older relative as I do getting jabbed myself.
