NHS email about Immunosuppressed and new drug

Sotrovimab, a monoclonal antibody.
I've just had an email from the NHS telling me I would be eligable for one of the new drugs. I believ it has to be taken within 5 days of infection.
Apparently they are sending me a PCR test to have at home ready.

There's a few bits online, I haven't had an email yet but mine always seem to come about 2 days late!

NinaProudman2022 · 20/12/2021 18:12

Yes I have just got an email about this today too.

TheVampiresWife · 20/12/2021 18:16

Ooh! I wonder if I'll be eligible? I'm on subcut methotrexate and I've been having three-monthly steroid injections to try and get my symptoms under control. Also obese (not over 40 BMI though, something like 36) and high BP. I was group four for vaccines.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/12/2021 18:48

I wonder how they identify people who are eligible. Is it for all those who needed 3 primary doses?

kimlo · 20/12/2021 18:50

I got this today. Not group 4 and not offered 3 primary doses.

Mumshappy · 20/12/2021 18:50

Ive got an email too.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 20/12/2021 18:50

Yes, got the email earlier.

Beekindbeehumble · 20/12/2021 18:55

No email here, but had 3 primary doses.

TheVampiresWife · 20/12/2021 19:13

I was supposed to have three primary doses (a letter was sent from my consultant advising my GP to organise it) but nobody seemed to be able to tell me where/how to get my third. In the end I was able to book my booster before my GP sorted it out so I did that, thinking it was better than nothing.

Given the issue with getting my third dose organised I won't hold my breath for the email!

According to this I should be eligible. I wonder how long it will take for emails to be sent to everyone?

PheasantsNest · 20/12/2021 19:18

Yes I had the email earlier.

Porfre · 20/12/2021 19:29

Make sure it's on your GP record that you're taking methotrexate, sometimes if its given by the hospital it doesnt always get coded right
Garysmum · 20/12/2021 19:32

No email here. I’m on biologic medication for autoimmune disease. No doubt I will be left to die at home if I get covid based on the fact my gp sent nobody for a a third primary vaccination as they read the information incorrectly. My notes are wrong and nobody will sort them out

Sparklingbrook · 20/12/2021 19:33

My relative has had one, getting a PCR to keep at home and might be eligible for drugs if a positive test. They have had three primary doses of vaccine and a booster.

Bagelsandbrie · 20/12/2021 19:34

No email here but I’m supposedly in this group. Apparently if you think you should be and haven’t heard anything by 10/1 you should ring 119 and let them know.

Thepowerofthelook · 20/12/2021 19:36

@Beekindbeehumble

No email here, but had 3 primary doses.
Same here.
8MinutesToSunrise · 20/12/2021 19:36

Hmm looks like I'm eligible on two counts but no email here yet. I wonder if they're doing them in batches or if I've been missed off a list somewhere again

Rollergirl11 · 20/12/2021 19:36

I had the email. I’ve been group 6 for the vaccines.

Ridcully82 · 20/12/2021 19:38

It feels very reassuring to me:a real equaliser 😁👍

Onlyhereforchaletschool · 20/12/2021 19:38

My mum and dad both got the email today too

TheVampiresWife · 20/12/2021 19:40

@Porfre @Bagelsandbrie useful advice, thanks.

Come to think if it I don't think my GP has my email address, they usually send texts.

I'll give them a ring tomorrow.

Abraxan · 20/12/2021 19:48

Looking at the list I could be eligible. I'm group 6 for vaccines, though have been in and out of group 4.

Not heard anything though.

I had covid pre vaccines.

MissDollyMix · 20/12/2021 20:26

Dh got an email but we have no idea why! He’s a healthy 30-something! No underlying health conditions, not CV, didn’t qualify for anything other than the standard vaccination schedule. All we can think of is that 3 and a bit years ago he was very ill with peritonitis and sepsis from which he is fully recovered (and has been for nearly 3 years). Unfortunately he suffers from health anxiety and now he thinks he’s in grave danger of covid and his anxiety gone through the roof!

cobblers123 · 20/12/2021 20:34

I've had this tonight and I am baffled as to why I've received it. I'm not on any medication and have never had any health issues.
