OH positive - struggling with self isolation

So, I had a rotten cold last week, not classic three Covid symptoms so no PCR but did daily LFT, all negative. OH came down with exact same symptoms few days later, again LFT daily, all negative. Yesterday, he had a temperature so we both went and had PCR tests. My result is negative, his is positive. He hadn’t left the house and I’ve only been to school (I’m a Teacher) lots of cases in school. He thinks I may have had it last week and passed to him. Is this possible, or would it show on my PCR if I’d had it recently?
I ask because he is really struggling with the self isolation idea over Christmas and is distraught at idea of being on his own for 10 days. I’m quite worried about his mental health tbh. We have been in the same room pretty much 24/7 for the last three days anyway as we’ve both been in bed ill so will it make any difference if I isolate now anyway?

It is possible that you had it last week, but you will never know. It’s up to you both to decide where he isolates, especially as he’s struggling, but maybe you should do another PCR test in a couple of days.

Are you boosted? TBH I'm not sure I'd bother isolating if I was boosted

I mean isolating from DH in the house - I'd still stay at home!

If he hasn’t left the house and not seen anyone other than you then yes, it’s likely you had it and infected him.
