I did a postal PCR on Friday as a contact of Omicron, and I’ve not heard yet 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think they must be overwhelmed

Vapeyvapevape · 19/12/2021 20:15

Not strange at all, more people are testing just now...

milkysmum · 19/12/2021 21:24

33 hours really isn't that long considering how many people must be testing at the moment.

TulipsGarden · 19/12/2021 21:27

33 hours isn't that long really, I've had tests take that long when rates were much lower. I've seen a few people say three days for tests recently.

cantkeepawayforever · 19/12/2021 21:28

3-4 days seems common at the moment for pcr.

NeedAHoliday2021 · 19/12/2021 21:29

The aim is within 48 hours. I’m nhs and am supposed to get mine within 24 hours but dd2 came back within 8 hours negative and dh I had to call about and his was positive (like his lft). No idea why he didn’t get a text. It updated on the app soon after.

Scrooge89 · 19/12/2021 21:32

Incredibly rare to get a false positive on lft. She’s positive hope she stays well x

Crackingowlsanctuary · 19/12/2021 21:32

In the past week we’ve had pcrs that were 46 hours, 14 hours and 19 hours all from the same drive through place. 33 isn’t uncommon although it’s frustrating to wait.

middleager · 19/12/2021 22:35

I wouldn't class 32 hours as long.

That was our average time for 3 separate tests on different days in September, when it wasn't at a peak either.

middleager · 19/12/2021 22:35

Or 33 hours...Blush
