Can you get a booster with a sniffle?

I’ve a very mild sniffle. LFTs negative. Not gone for PCR as just the mildest sniffle but I am aware omicron might be more cold-like.
So - can I get a booster do you think? My appointment isn’t till xmas eve but I have 2-3 hours childfree tomorrow where I could try a drop-in.
I’m supposed to be buying wrapping paper and stocking fillers but will give that up to queue for a booster but only if I’m confident they’ll give me it. Anybody had one with a mild cold?

DH did. He was fine

Had mine today with a sore throat from coughing. Had a negative pcr and daily lft all negative. I had a cold last week but a stupid irritating cough is all that's left of the cold.
The nurse said it was fine to be jabbed and I feel ok so far.

Had mine today even though I feel pretty rough and run down

WorriedGiraffe · 19/12/2021 20:34

If it’s that mild I’m sure they wouldn’t even notice, nether mind refuse you

I did. Had a pretty heavy cold for a couple of days this week, then was getting over it yesterday when I had my appointment.

I had to fill in a form asking if I had any contraindications - if I'd had a fever it was a definite no and if I'd had any cold symptoms it came under "caution". I ticked the box and wrote on the form I'd had a cold but tested negative and so had the rest of my family. The vaccinated said that was fine and I couldn't do anything else.

I'm now completely fine apart from a slightly sore arm Smile

I did a lf test in the morning of my booster, been sniffy but I was ok. Test was negative, great I had my booster. The next day I find the lf test on the counter and the bloody thing is positive!! So I actually tested positive for covid on the day I had my booster and I’m still about. I feel like absolute shite though.

I had mine yesterday with a cold. I tested negative with PCR and was well enough to go, so I did. I still have a cold now but I don't think I feel any worse.

Get a PCR. I have just tested positive on a PCR. My youngest test positive at the start of the week. We have been having daily lateral flow tests and neither DH nor I have had positive LFTs but we are positive on PCR. Get it checked.

My 26 yr old DD had hers yesterday, she woke up on Sunday morning with no voice and a sore throat, she has been a close contact of covid on 11th Dec (panto) but did a LTF and a PCR 3 days ago and both were negative she the vaccinator said she could still have her booster, she had it at 2pm and because she has a compromised immunity was given a list of side effects to watch for (she has previously had anaphylactic shock but not to a vaccine) one of the side effects was losing her voice, or it becoming hoarse (which is was before she even had the jab) but she is fine, a few aches but that I think is from the cold bug and not the vaccine

I had a cold for about 2 weeks (LTF and PCR negative), delayed my booster once. Then got it when my cold was getting better. Felt awful after the booster for 36 hrs, then after that I was fine. After that cold had gone.

tumpymummy · 20/12/2021 08:51

When i went for my booster they just asked if I had covid symptoms. Not if I was fit and well.

Jenasaurus · 21/12/2021 18:49

An update, my DD had a cold when she had hers and slept for 15 hours, she feels fine now though

museumum · 21/12/2021 19:08

Got it a couple of hours ago. Hoping for the best….
