First jab 27th Aug.
As title positive COVID PCR 17th November.
Test & Trace initially said to wait 3 months after the + result for his second jab but now I’m confused.

It's still 11 weeks.. We were asked at vaccination centre today

happytoday73 · 19/12/2021 19:14

Argh.. 12

GreatBigBeautifulTommorow · 19/12/2021 19:15

It’s 28 days from a +ve PCR

kimlo · 19/12/2021 19:17

9th of feb. 12 weeks since he tested positive because he's under 18.

QueenofLouisiana · 19/12/2021 19:24

12 weeks after positive PCR. It’s different for under 18s due to the risk of heart inflammation (much, much lower than getting that from actual covid infection, but it is a precaution).

Thank you all, I thought it may have changed from the 12 weeks because the advice is so fluid. Thank you

When did the advice change?

DS(13) was covid +ve on 12 October and we had the letter to say we needed to book his vaccine about a month ago, the system also lets me book an appointment for him???

Only reason he hasn't had it is because I tested +ve on 9th November so I'm taking him for it when I have my booster to save two trips!

FrangipaniBlue · 20/12/2021 07:15

I'm glad I didn't take him straight way when we got the letter now!!

The test results database and the vaccination database unfortunately aren't linked. Your DS would be asked about his covid history at the vaccination Centre and its only at this point he'd be turned away if less than 12 weeks.

It’s 12 weeks for anyone up to the age of 17 years 9 months due to the increased risk of myocarditis.

Ds caught Covid mid November just as he was due his 2nd dose. He could have a 2nd dose after a month but has decided to wait the 12 weeks.
