I can smell - a little!

Tested positive a week ago. Symptoms are very head cold like. Smell and taste went gradually over the first few days to nothing by Thursday. Doesn't help I've been so congested. I always get reduced smell and taste with an average cold but this is worse

Today I can smell little things. Like quick brief whiff of stuff. Not a prolonged smell. Could just smell DS's Ketchup and can smell coffee granules close up. Couldn't smell nail varnish remover earlier though. Taste still bland and horrible.

So I would say it's 10-20 percent back. Has anyone suffered recently and would you say it will come back quickly now?

Desperate for it all to be back by Christmas Day. I couldn't taste properly last Christmas due to throat infection and swollen taste buds (negative pcr at the time). I'm prone to smell and taste issues. I have convinced myself I'll be the person who loses it permanently 😪

It's so annoying isn't it! I tested positive on Wednesday, then lost my sense of smell and taste on friday.. I can't smell anything at all really, as for taste I can taste salt, but nothing else! It's made me loose my appetite and I just have to force myself to eat at the moment! I've also convinced myself it wont ever come back!

Well it's been three months here and it's not back yet....

Hopefully it won’t be long for you, but 4 months for me and my sense of smell is very feint and definitely altered - my usual perfume for example smells completely different and I can often smell a strange smell but can’t work out where it is coming from

My friend's got her smell taste back in 10 days. It will be a year on Xmas day for me only about 50% back and still can't taste coffee :(
