Vaccinated and then tested positive later that day

My Ds was vaccinated today- we LF everyday, and tonight he has tested positive, (he was negative last night).
Worryingly he will have put people at risk at the vaccination centre. I also wondered is it dangerous for him to be infected with Covid and have the vaccine at the same time? ( He had Covid 12 weeks ago as well!)

No it's not dangerous. What is done, is done. Hope he gets well soon.

He'll be fine. My friend had her booster and felt shit the following day. Turned out to be covid.

If he had Covid 12 weeks ago then maybe just picking up some dead virus ? You aren’t supposed to do LFTs for twelve weeks post infection.

Theworldsgonecrazy · 19/12/2021 17:57

It really would make more sense to test am -before you go out and about for the day!

If he had it 12 weeks ago it would be really unlucky to get it again now. Had he had anything to eat or drink before doing the test? Wondering if it may be false?

We do sometimes do tests twice daily morning and night but because there has been a shortage of LF's I stupidly decided to not do this morning having had negative 10pm last night, kicking myself...
thanks for the reassurance... yes seems v bad luck as it was 3 months to the day that he last had it! The line is very strong but yes I'll do another one just to check. He's developed streaming nose this evening Hmm

Why are you doing twice daily tests?
Are you logging all the results?
How many of you are there doing them? Curious.

daisypond · 19/12/2021 18:28

Why are you doing LFTs every day? Even twice a day? Are you vulnerable?

Bubblty · 19/12/2021 18:30

No need to do them twice a day

walkingonsand · 19/12/2021 18:59

My husband and I have to do them daily for our work (plus we have 2 PCR per week at work) and they ask if we can LF the whole household daily , although that part is not enforced
