Hi, I’m trying to find out the latest info on when to get my children vaccinated.

I have looked into it and as far as I can tell it’s still to wait 12 weeks post infection and we all had covid in early November 2021. Out situations are:

DS1 16yr - had one vaccination in September and covid in November. No health conditions.

DD1 15 yrs - not been vaccinated (got covid in November on the day it was due). Has asthma and some other health conditions, prone to fatigue.

DS2 12 yrs - not been vaccinated (got covid in November on the day it was due). Has asthma.

The guidance was originally to wait 4 weeks and then changed to 12.

It's 12 weeks between 1st and 2nd jab for under 18s. Also 12 weeks between having covid and jab. This means it'll be 12 weeks from whenever they had covid to getting their 1st/2nd jab

DS 17 had Covid early October and despite his booster being booked for 2 weeks ago, they refused to give him a booster until 3 months after positive result.

For your DD1, my DD1 was in exactly the same position. She had her vaccination 1 month after positive, but the following week they changed the guidance to 3 months.

@Wakemeuuuup @AuditAngel thanks for your replies. That’s pretty much what I thought but as things are changing so fast though I wasn’t certain. I suppose it comes down to whether my daughter is deemed vulnerable enough to warrant the vaccine sooner.
AuditAngel - yes we were just after the 4 week to 12 week change.
