We were due to go to St Lucia this week for christmas. A massive treat and in part due to the fact that we lost my parents to covid at the start of the year and my MIL to cancer 3 months later.

This morning DS2 has come up positive on a LFT (following an email from school about cases in his class last night) so heading out for us all to do PCRs shortly.

Guess we’ll be stuck at home and eating the random contents of the cupboards then…. Also don’t really have any presents given we were going to be away.

Oh bless you, OP! I hope he stays well without symptoms, you have a cosy Christmas at home, the holiday can be rearranged and your husband calms down Flowers

This is horrible, really really feel for you all and sorry for your losses Thanks

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 21/12/2021 07:05

This sucks so badly OP. Are you or DH positive? Aldi have loads of fresh turkeys that are reasonable. Amazon Prime for a few things to open for the DCs. It's bloody horrible. I hope you can rearrange your holiday.

Iceland deliver OK so it won't be gourmet but it tastes nice

Lovelydovey · 21/12/2021 12:52

Neither DH nor I are positive (for now, and both boosted) so we can pick up a few bits locally. We’ve had a couple of local friends offer to drop stuff off too if we need it - even had an offer to drop cooked Christmas dinner off on the doorstep if needed.

Pleased also to say that DH has relented on isolating the DC, though am trying to get them to only use one bathroom and keeping windows open etc.

I’m so sorry, it sounds like it was a much needed holiday for you all ☹️.

Littlegoth · 21/12/2021 12:56

So sorry.

We isolated my other half the second he started showing symptoms, even before his test came back positive. Made no difference, we all caught it. Husband can stay in his room if he likes. X

AtlasPine · 21/12/2021 12:59

That is really rubbish. So sorry - and hope you get your dream trip next year.

Purplepeoniesdroppingpetals · 21/12/2021 13:09

Poor you, op. Hope that you can rebook straightforwardly.

Wam90 · 21/12/2021 13:12

I’m so sorry you can’t all have the holiday that you planned. I hope you can make the best of your time at home as a family 💐

Crapslattern · 21/12/2021 13:28

That's really crappy. Both dcs tested positive at the end of last week. I'm boosted and still negative 🤞🏼

CloudPop · 21/12/2021 14:01

So sorry to hear this OP. What a body blow. When will the misery ever end. Wishing you a good Christmas anyway l, hope you can reschedule the trip.
