High heart rate a covid symptom?

My 11yo had a positive LFT & now waiting for PCR result. He's had a high heart rate tonight (120+ compared to usually in 80s). Is this a common symptom?

I saw that South African doctor say it was a symptom for adults and children with Omicron. She was not unduly concerned about it though!

It could be caused by quite a few things, including him being anxious about the positive test result. Does he have other medical conditions? Does he feel very unwell in other ways at the moment? If the answer is no to both I would not worry too much. A yes to either might also explain it.

Yes my nephew tested positive and for the first couple of days had a heart rate around 118 this can happen when body is fighting an illness.

That sounds reassuring. He had an incident of random high heart rate a couple of months ago (had a few tests, no reason was found), which is why I noticed it.

Thanks all

Yes, and can also be caused by other illnesses or fever. Or anxiety.
