santa special question - would you do this?

We've paid for tickets for a Santa special on Wednesday. There's three of us- 2 adults (double vaccinated plus booster v recently and a 3 year old). 3 year old doesn't know anything about this event.

People sit at those tables of four. I now realise the fourth seat will be filled by someone else we wont know so sat next to one of us and opposite another.

They want people to wear masks but are providing mince pies and drinks so clearly masks will be removed for this.

The company have been really nice and giving us more back than they had to. There definitely was a fourth person sat with us. I feel a bit sad but happier now I know what the plan is. Hope you all have safe Christmases

Having a stranger sat at your table is no different than one sitting at the next table in my opinion. Plus you are all in a small space anyway. So that particular point wouldn't stop me if I was comfortable going to the event in the first place.

We decided not to go too. It was all paid for so it won't have affected the company, at least. We've got an outdoor Christmas lights trail that we are still comfortable to do at least. Shame as DD would have loved the train but we are seeing her 90yo great gran and my DM who is immunosuppressed at Christmas so I'd rather be safe. Hopefully next year ...

My kids would be devastated if I cancelled anything like that, so we are going to see Santa tomorrow with bells on. What will be will be. We are seeing family hopefully but Christmas is one day, my kids will be happy so long as Santa comes!
