So at two separate conferences in Scotland and Wales we have warning of a storm coming and a Tsunami of cases coming.

Why can't politicians use better terms instead of deliberately fearmongerng or just being factual.

It's nearly as bad as the often used one "on their knees".

@Againstmachine

They shouldn't be using metafores.

They should be using correct terms

Oh the irony!

KrispyKale · 18/12/2021 13:44

I agree with op.
I know some people scared now to a point detrimental to their health.
I get that the propaganda is used to shake the other end our of complacency
But there will be a price to be paid.

KrispyKale · 18/12/2021 13:45

Out of complacency..

KrispyKale · 18/12/2021 13:46

Most sensible people were as a pp says galvanised enough by Whitty.

@KrispyKale

Most sensible people were as a pp says galvanised enough by Whitty.
Do be careful with the word "galvanised". The OP will tut again. Unless of course Whitty is pouring people into huge vats and covering them with hot metal.
KrispyKale · 18/12/2021 17:14

Oh come on now.
Maybe inflammatory language or intemperate language if going a bit more retro, might have been a better choice.
But surely l the crowing over metaphorical language is deliberately missing the OP's point about the ill advised choice of messaging.
Fair enough if everyone you now is calm and collected and cool like Boris, Allegra and co.
Where I am it's feeling rather different.

Know not now for those that care.
