Is it possible to be negative if take test 2 months after covid

As title says , covid just over 2 months ago , now showing possible symptoms but says you can test positive for 90 days , so how will we know if new covid infection or just showing from old infection

Wondering if anyone has had covid then a pcr for travel or new symptoms within 60 days and its been negative

Yes, I know plenty of people who have had negative PCRs (for travel) within a few weeks of having Covid. It can show for up to 90 days, it doesn't mean that it will.

Thanks , thinking its best to take him for a pcr rather than assume its not covid and send him out spreading it
If its positive we won't know for sure if from old or new infection but at least its one less person spreading just incase
He now has temp so that is a symptom
