Are you cancelling bookings?

Just that really… are you cancelling restaurant bookings for next week?

My Father has his annual birthday meal booked on Sunday - It’s a beautiful gastro pub but it’s small, and I am nervous. I am triple jabbed as are we all so I am not nervous about catching covid as I hope it would be mild but I am nervous about being in isolation for Christmas Day.

Am I being ridiculous here??? Is everyone else going ahead with meals out pubs etc??

@WombatChocolate

Happy, just out of interest, do you have any elderly or vulnerable in your family?

We have several over 80s. I’d be worried that if I or one of my kids had Covid, they would be a real risk to the oldies. I’m more concerned about that than if anyone is actually feeling ill and ‘up to’ being present at the celebrations etc.

Do you find that all your family are taking the view that they’re happy for anyone who catches Covid over next 10 days to be there regardless? Really interested as people have different views in this I know.

If someone in my house caught covid, I know DH’s parents wouldn’t really mind (they’re in their early 60s, triple vaccinated), however would probably mind more about the fact it was breaking the rules than any actual risk. DH’s grandparents who we are also seeing over Christmas we wouldn’t see if we had covid - that would be their decision and if they turned up anyway I wouldn’t send them away (but I doubt they’d do that).

No. I saw my parents last weekend as they live a few hours away. In laws can choose to come or not but I will be visiting grandchildren so May be risky. Just doing everything I'd planned to

No, but we live in a small town and we have been socialising in our local pub since July even when rate were higher than now and not caught it to our knowledge. Landlord is asking everyone to lateral flow for New Years party
