School xmas celebrations amid Omicron

DD's school nativity is today and the whole school Christmas assembly tomorrow. I personally think it's madness and likely to risk many families having to isolate over xmas. I don't have the heart to keep her off though. Just crossing my fingers that we don't get caught-up in an outbreak. I'm counting down the days to the end of term. Anybody else feeling the same?

Luckily ours cancelled everything. It felt like overkill when they announced back in October that there would be no Carol service / nativity / Christmas fayre this year again, but I'm very glad now.

I'd feel the same it I were you. Not so much that I'd be worrying about the kids' exposure (as they're in school in the midst of it anyway) but for the audience, it's madness to bring a large group of people together who wouldn't otherwise be there.

First ever nativity for my Y1 kid yesterday - am so glad they made it happen...
It wasn't a free for all. Everyone LFT before, limited tickets so audience spaced in the hall.
My older kid (8) keeps saying how nice it is that this year at least some stuff is happening even if it's not everything...

I can see how a nativity could be managed but not a whole school assembly??
