I know it's 2-14 days but how long was it for you?

I test twice a week. Tested on a Monday (negative) then tested on Friday (positive). I reckon it was pre-Monday that I caught it (barely went anywhere in between the tests) and I didn’t test positive for a few days after.

GandTisgoodforme · 16/12/2021 00:01

Exposed to it on the Sunday, positive on the Thursday. I tested with a LFT everyday, so 4 days I reckon.

BurntO · 16/12/2021 00:03

My nephew caught it off us… took 1 week. His sister caught it off him 5 days after their siblings positive lateral flow

Mum5net · 16/12/2021 00:07

DD exposed to it Sunday at 1800. PCR on Tuesday 0800 am . Result to say tested positive Wed 0400 am. Lateral Flow only said positive at 1700 Wednesday.
Just has scratchy throat

DS was off colour all week but negative lateral flow tests. Then on 4/12 he had a very positive LFT.
Followed up by pcrs on 5/12, he was positive and so was I! I was still negative on LFT at that point, I got a very faint positive on 6/12 and another faint but slightly more viable one on 7/12. By 8/12 they had become much darker!
DD and partner stayed negative on daily LFTs and had a PCR on 14/12 as a precaution.
DD has come back positive so we are now isolation till the 23rd Sad
Awaiting the inevitable call from Test and trace in the morning, hope they are less incompetent this time around

SparePantsAndLego · 16/12/2021 02:26

DS was positive on Sunday morning (negative on Sat am). I test -ve on LFT yesterday (Weds) morning but +ve by mid pm. I did a second test as I developed symptoms in the afternoon.

Nearly everyone I know is taking 4 days from exposure to positive test. Based on how it's spread at home, I'd guess you start being infectious around day 2...with omicron at least anyway. Which is one of the reasons I think it's spreading like wildfire.

Sparkle275 · 16/12/2021 06:13

I caught covid off DD. She was showing symptoms on the Sunday, testing positive on lateral flow Monday and confirmed by PCR Tuesday. On the Wednesday I tested positive on a lateral flow after waking up with symptoms and confirmed by positive PCR on the Thursday.

Goodmorninglights · 16/12/2021 06:25

6 days but that was Delta. I’ve read Omicron faster.

Trinacham · 16/12/2021 06:29

I'd been around my colleague who had been out to a restaurant on Thursday night, where we think she caught it. I'd started having symptoms possibly as early as Friday (just felt achy) but didn't test positive until Monday

catnidge · 16/12/2021 06:34

I'm positive and was asked by track and trace online to fill in a form about my movements 4 to 7 days before my symptons.

junebirthdaygirl · 16/12/2021 06:36

I was exposed to virus on Monday night. No idea at the time. On Wednesday night l felt awful, went to bed early etc. On Thursday morning l did a test at home and it was positive. PCR later that afternoon confirmed next morning.

Umbongoumbongo999 · 16/12/2021 06:36

5/6 days to onset of symptoms and a positive PCR from exposure. 4 weeks ago, so assuming delta

Captainrachy · 16/12/2021 07:27

Exposed Friday 3rd, symptoms Monday 6th, positive PCR on Tuesday 7th. LFT wasn’t positive until Wednesday 8th.

Daughter then tested positive on Monday 13th after developing symptoms on Sunday 12th. She did not test positive on LFTs though as I did.
