Drive in PCR result times (14/15 December)

Nearly every PCR we've had, we've received a result within 24 hours. I'm just wondering whether to expect a big delay as a result of the high test rates at the moment.

Is there anyone here who had a PCR yesterday who received their result today?

My brother got one yesterday and results about 22hrs later. We're in Scotland (near Edinburgh)

My best friend had one yesterday at 2.30pm. She messaged me at 7am this morning saying she was negative. So she received the result a little earlier than that.

Thank you both. It sounds as though some results are still coming back quickly then. I imagined our tests going into a massive queue behind tens of thousands of others.

Took my DS yesterday at 12.30. Still waiting for result which is really frustrating as I want to know if he can go to school tomorrow! Usually I've waited around 24 hours but this one has been 35 hours so far...

My DH was tested at 12.30pm yesterday and received negative result today at 8pm. We are in the South East. The testing centre was very busy!

I tested yesterday and result was back in 19 hours

Two of my children tested yesterday at 2pm. Results came this morning at 7.30

In london, test at 2.30pm yesterday, results 6am this morning

Our results have just come through from our drive in test this morning.

Negative, which is a nice surprise as I was convinced that this time would be it!

I hope anyone else waiting for results gets them as quickly.

2 of our household did one yesterday morning at 9.30. The NHS worker has theirs back (test centre said they were being prioritised) - the child doesn’t yet…
