Has your 12-15 already been vaccinated? Did they have any side effects?

My 13 year old dd missed her Covid jab at school as she was off.
She’s been so scared to get the jab as she has awful emetophobia (she is on a cbt waiting list for this) and is convinced she will feel nauseous or vomit after the jab.
I have managed to get her booked in on 28/12.
Has your dc already had the jab (which one did they have?) and did they get any side effects?

@Twoweekcruise

We all had some sort of side effects
Some first dose some second some third some all some none and random.

Still the right thing to do so well done you kids.

They will get over it and it good to teach them adult responsibilities!!

RudeRide · 15/12/2021 18:20

No side effects.

ChequerBoard · 15/12/2021 18:24

DS14 had Pfizer jab at school second week of October. Sailed through, no side effects.

Was going to book second dose for him as soon as booking opened but he tested positive on a LFT this morning, now awaiting PCR test result...

Notonthestairs · 15/12/2021 18:28

@waterlego yes I'd given permission but we were notified that they had run out of vaccine so I hadn't thought it had gone ahead.

The school is still only about half vaccinated (as in Yrs11 down to about half of Year 9 had one jab) and no sign of them returning.

soapboxqueen · 15/12/2021 18:32

Ds (12) has had both jabs. Pfizer. Not even a sore arm 🤨

normanthegonk · 15/12/2021 18:35

DD 12..slight sore arm

Watapalava · 15/12/2021 18:49

Chequer - even tho booking approved its still 12 weeks between doses so he cant be vax til mid january anyway. If he tests positive on pcr, he then has to wait 12 weeks starting fresh. Maybe just go by lft, let him recover and give him second jab in jan as planned

waterlego · 16/12/2021 12:58

@Notonthestairs, ah ok, thank you.

jackstini · 16/12/2021 13:13

Dd 15 & Ds 13 have both had theirs
Slightly sore arms for a few hours, no other side effects at all

Angel2702 · 16/12/2021 17:45

Both my dS were fine not even sore arm really. 15yr old had second dose after 8 weeks and felt a bit fluey the next day but was fine the day after that.

WhoWants2Know · 16/12/2021 17:49

Both my 12 and 13 year old have had theirs with no side effects.

PollyPoppins2 · 16/12/2021 17:54

DS15 had the vaccine and no reaction or side effects

Mama1980 · 16/12/2021 17:55

My 13 year old son had it 9 weeks ago. No side effects at all.

Hamjamwich · 16/12/2021 18:06

Sore arm. Non -event. It's just like any other jab. DS said the one with tetanus was worse

rainrainraincamedowndowndown · 16/12/2021 18:19

13 yrs old ds, no side effects at all.

luinagreine · 16/12/2021 18:21

My ds is 14 and double vaccinated(not in the UK) and he had a bit of a headache after the second one but paracetamol fixed that fairly quick for him. Nothing after the 1st.

HelenaJustina · 16/12/2021 18:27

12 and 14yr olds, sore arm for 24hrs, nothing else

Youaremypenguin · 16/12/2021 18:30

14 year old had a sore arm. He made such a fuss it was hilarious. He managed to feed himself and play on a laptop but suddenly homework or house chores he was paralyzed. Apart from this he's been totally ok.

EmmaGellerGreen · 16/12/2021 18:31

13 year old, barely noticed it.
