Did anyone else have a red bump and really sore arm after modena ?
Had mine yesterday and arm was a little tender almost straight away but nothing too bad
Hurt a lot in night and kept me awake a little , today it developed a red bump about 5 p size and hot to touch
I also feel a little blurghh but that may also be due to lack of sleep

@fouronblondes you get whatever vaccine is available. If you go as a walk-in, the reception volunteers will tell you which one they're administering. If it's not the one you want, they'll know when your preferred vaccine will be next in, and you can go back. Unless someone'sgot a particular health concern, the volunteers are just encouraging people to get it done.

Thanks @worriedatthemoment

Thanks@ all dopenguinsdance

Had it today so fully expecting this by tomorrow. In a way it's reassuring as it won't be a surprise! I had a similar reaction to swine flu vaccine in 2009, you could feel the heat from my arm through a jumper!

KaycePollard · 15/12/2021 16:53

It's really nothing new or surprising a vaccination can cause a localised reaction with redness and pain in the arm... happens with other vaccines too.

Well, quite.

Sore arm for about 3 days starting on the day of the jab. 24 hours later I had mild aches and was shivery. 2 paracetamol and a good night's sleep and I was fine the next day. I had no symptoms at all after my 2 AZ jabs.

Thanks, @worriedatthemoment. Good to know. I've got enough on without feeling rough! I have to go to a funeral next week and there's no way I can make my excuses and not be there. There's currently no limit on the numbers at the service or the gathering afterwards. People are coming from across the country and since most of them haven't seen one another since before the pandemic I'm not convinced that there'll be much social distancing. There are no LTR tests available in my area, either, so no chance of before and after testing. I'm concerned because it's less than 10 days before Christmas Day and
I'm supposed to be having everyone here including some elderly relatives, a young baby, and someone who's CEV. Not a great mix if I'm ill or contagious! I'm hoping (unreasonably, I know) that the immediate family will limit the numbers attending the funeral or at least postpone the get-together as a precaution. Sadly, I doubt it.

I had no symptoms at all after my AZ jabs, but the Moderna booster last Friday has wiped me out, I've been so tired and headachy. My arm was a bit red and swollen, but not really sore, just a bit itchy. But oh, the tiredness! Today was the first day I've been able to function even vaguely normally.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 15/12/2021 17:09

I think sometimes the soreness might depend on exactly where/how the injection is done too. My arm was extremely sore after the first one (I couldn't wash my hair for a couple of days because it hurt to much to lift above shoulder height) and the second one didn't hurt at all unless I knocked it. A friend who had the same vaccines had it the other way around so wondered whether it might have partly been the position of the needle because her second one (which hurt more) was done a bit higher than the first.

I'm wondering whether my period will disappear again after my booster — I had 96 day cycle after the second jab!

worriedatthemoment · 15/12/2021 17:15

@KaycePollard but its surprising if you have never had a reaction before
I have a reaction in mosquito bites but its not the same as this
Why do people have to be so jumped up
Its simply a thread with people talking about their experiences , nothing more and nothing less
Why some posters take a moral
High ground over everything who knows

My arm was sore in the evening after the jab, but it’s been fine since.
I have felt fluey, muscle aches but nothing awful.

The first AZ was a worse reaction.

I’d rather have the reaction and know the vaccine is working rather than be poorly with Covid.

worriedatthemoment · 15/12/2021 17:36

@DobbyTheHouseElk yes which is what i said in my op

@worriedatthemoment ok. I thought I’d add my experience. That’s how this works.
