DH is double jabbed and eligible for a booster.
His vaccine pass on the NHS app is only showing his 1st vaccination. So he's unable to book the booster. It just won't let him continue with it online.
He's definitely had 2. Has his card.
He's contacted a support line who will look into it and get back to him within 21 days.
We've got a few things booked after Xmas which, I'm sure will require a pass. Panto definitely does.
Any ideas of what else or who else he can contact?
GP is quite rubbish and it's really difficult to even get through.
Anyone been in this position?.

I had booster yesterday and overheard a conversation with someone in the same situation. She'd booked her booster as her second jab, and the nurse told her that it was fine, but she'd have to register her booster as her second jab in the system, because it would only allow her to do that. Then, the system could later be updated to add in her second jab and record her booster correctly as the booster. (Hope that makes sense!)

yesandnobutmainlyno · 15/12/2021 13:53

(Yes, I probably should have tuned out, but pretty difficult in a tiny pharmacy when they're talking loudly with the door open!)

SendARavenToRiverRun · 15/12/2021 14:01

That does make sense. Thank you. I'd have listened too! The trouble is, DH (like me) had 1st and 2nd of AZ. My booster is Moderna so I'm assuming it'll be the same for him?. Only they'd have AZ ready if they thought it was a second?. I don't think AZ is used for boosters?
I'll have to do some digging. DH is completely unfazed at the moment. He has every faith the helpline will get back to him ASAP. I've got less faith and more get up and get it sorted lol. Thank you.

I think I'd ring them if it's a pharmacy and ask which vaccines they're using that day. Might be worth going to a walk-in, if you can?

yesandnobutmainlyno · 15/12/2021 14:06

Actually, the person who I overheard was definitely over 40, and the pharmacy was only doing Moderna and Pfizer yesterday, not AZ.

SendARavenToRiverRun · 15/12/2021 14:06

Our local centre is a huge (redundant for a few years) nhs building. It's like a military operation even getting through the front doors. It's so bloody annoying! I might have to see if any pharmacies locally are offering it?.
Thank you.

SendARavenToRiverRun · 15/12/2021 14:10

That's promising then if it would be a different booster (not AZ). DH is over 40.
Our local centre needs to be booked. Yet annoyingly he can't book it ( without fibbing!)
Thank you.

Don’t mean to stress you but I wouldn’t have faith in the helpline. I couldn’t get them to update mine for love nor money. Spent 2 months being passed back and forth between them and my GP (felt sorry for the practice manager at my GP as my jab wasn’t booked via them so not sure how they were supposed to help?) before I eventually got an escalation contact from 119. Escalation contact was also useless, but may be more help to you if he has his card - I wasn’t given a card but they suggested if I’d had the batch number the Data Resolution Group would have been able to update so maybe ask for them.

I eventually got it sorted by going back to the place where I’d had my second dose and explaining the situation to them - after that it was fixed within hours! But appreciate that will be WAY more difficult now due to the huge queues at the vaccination sites.

Good luck!

SendARavenToRiverRun · 15/12/2021 14:14

Bloody hell @missinggrandstand. That's my fear. I've got no faith in him being any sort of priority (and rightly so, but he is to us!) for them.
He has his card. That's a start I guess. Thank you. I'm glad you got sorted.

Hi!
This exact thing happened to me. Unfortunately my 2nd jab wasn’t uploaded to the system so I didn’t get the barcode. What I did was take my card to the GP so they could upload to my medical record. To then get your barcode, it’s a separate step, you have to have your vaccine linked on the database they use. Because I didn’t have my jab at my GP, they had to phone up to get this done. Only GPs can do this apparently.

You can probably get the booster but I’d follow up on the second dose anyway, as you might need all 3 recorded properly.

If it’s 119 you called, they ended up taking 2 months to call me back, so I’d try and push your GP! This all happened to me in Aug/Sep so hopefully they’re more aware of the process.

I have the number the GP needs to call but not sure if I’m allowed to post it?

Multicolouredsequins · 15/12/2021 14:36

Yes, had this happen. Couldn't book my booster, kept saying I wasn't eligible although I was. Spoke to 119 who advised me to mark my online booking as 'social worker' in order to proceed, which worked. She said she'd booked lots of people in like that due to technical glitches online. Had booster today and the vaccination site didn't have record of my first vaccine and updated my records there and then. My GP said my records showed both vaccines, but the vaccine site must use different records as theirs was not up to date despite already having my two jabs there. If you have your printed card proof of vaccination with you, you should be fine.

Multicolouredsequins · 15/12/2021 14:41

They didn't ask about social worker status either, as could see from my vaccination card that I was eligible. GP couldn't help so I felt that I had no other option in the end, if I wanted to get the booster. I'm mid forties and second jab was back in June.

SendARavenToRiverRun · 15/12/2021 14:45

Brilliant. I'll have a look at the booking site now. Thanks all 🙂

I thought panto didn't require a pass? I'm going on Saturday and have received an email saying we need to wear masks for the duration but nothing about passes. Small regional theatre though so would that be why?

I've fine and downloaded but elderly relative has no smart phone

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 15/12/2021 16:21

I was struggling to book mine online so 119 advised me two separate times when I called to go to our walk in. I went there and they said although the app is showing my two vaccinations their system only showed my 2nd. I showed them the little card and my app so they went ahead and made some notes on their system. Hope that helps somehow OP

SendARavenToRiverRun · 15/12/2021 16:23

Thanks everyone. Very helpful. The panto is at quite a large theatre in a large city. I've not seen the email but a friend going to the same venue had one ( I didn't make the booking for ours).
Fingers crossed we can get it sorted.

Isn't a negative lft acceptable as a pass too? Assuming you can get one as others are stockpiling

SendARavenToRiverRun · 15/12/2021 17:08

The neg LFT is a good plan. Have a few knocking about. Thank you.

A little update. DH has visited his doctors surgery twice. Not allowed through the doors so he said it was tricky trying to explain via an intercom. He went to the viewing window and showed his card. They told him they'd update his record and sort it. If the records didn't update then to go back. They didn't update. He went back. Went through the same palaver again. Still not updated on the app.
But..
I tried to book his booster. Managed to get an appointment for Sunday. Only for the email to go to him saying it was for his second dose.
Ffs!. He's going to go anyway and try to explain it to them. Fingers crossed they let him in.

Multicolouredsequins · 18/12/2021 10:08

Very frustrating. My doctor is adamant that my records were up to date although they weren't. It seems to be something that only the vaccination site can correct in person. As long as the site he's going to is offering the booster he should be fine. They got a form and updated my details once I went in as it wasn't on system but my card showed my two previous jabs.

SendARavenToRiverRun · 18/12/2021 12:37

Brilliant. Thank you @multicolouredsequins. They offer boosters so hopefully he will be fine.
