What happens if you're (unknowingly) positive when you get your booster?

Just wondering really. DH and DD are getting theirs this week (I've already had mine). We're all testing regularly but as we know a) LFTs aren't 100% reliable and b) covid can be asymptomatic (as it was for us when we had it in September).

If you have it but don't know you have it when you get your booster, does it affect anything?

You could pass it on to other people

We have been told that people can have a slightly lower immune response to the vaccine.

Was told that last year and honestly haven’t researched it.

No it doesn't. You just won't know if it's side effects of the vaccine or Covid.

Well obviously! But if you don't know you've got it what can you do about it?

I had very mild fluey side effects after mine but knew to expect it as I was pretty foul after my first two. I did daily LFTs for the few days I felt grotty.

It's a good point though - I wonder how many people think they have vaccine side effects when in fact they have covid?

I suppose there's never going to be a perfect solution and some cases will always slip through the net.
