Rest of the household all been positive for a week, thought I dodged it but positive LFT yesterday evening. Now feel like I've got a nasty cold/ flu... shivers, blocked nose and terrible sinus headache, achey, weak etc... I'm double jabbed but also 36 weeks pregnant. Anyone able to share their experiences, symptom duration/ severity - especially if pregnant... trying not to worry but hard not to get anxious! Confused

Didn’t want to read and run so - bump.
Are you coughing? That’s the worst symptom of covid if pregnant I think.
Everyone’s symptoms will be different, I would personally take it easy if you can, rest as much as possible, hot lemon, honey, (if allowed when pregnant). Try not to worry Flowers.

Thank you @Suzi888 the coughing is so painful. Might go and have a rummage around for some honey. Feel quite sick so largely been sticking to just water. The aches are quite bad too, not sure there's a part of my body that doesn't hurt, would give anything for a long sleep!

I had a chronic cough when I was carrying DD - five years ago and way before covid. It was exhausting, I can recall holding my bump when coughing, as was worried the baby would be distressed. But all was fine, I was linked up to a monitor at the end of my pregnancy due to braxton hicks and the baby was completely unaffected by my coughing.
Just get plenty of rest, eat well and keep hydrated. I hope you feel better soon Flowers good luck.

I had it whilst 30 weeks pregnant in the summer, I had a few days of feeling like I had a bad cold, then I got a sinus infection which I was given antibiotics for and I chose not to take them unless I got really bad, but it went away in its own after about 10 days. I would describe my experience as a bad cold that I don’t want to repeat. The worst part for me was the loss of taste and smell! I found eating without tasting anything so bizarre but it did come back eventually. I bought one of those devices that checks your oxygen levels as I was paranoid but it never affected my lungs. I hope you feel better soon, rest as much as possible and baths for the body ache

Thanks, yes @Suzi888 the coughing is so painful with added bump. Good to know the baby isn't affected though...

@Kay1111 I'm finding it worse than a bad cold/ flu currently, sort of all of the worst symptoms I've had with other colds rolled into one!
