Faint line next morning?

Full of what I assume is cold and feel shocking. Did a lateral flow last night which looked negative and just left it on the kitchen side. This morning there's a faint line. Is this just the equivalent of an evap line on a pregnancy test?

The only way you will know is by getting a pcr.

L0ndonGirl · 14/12/2021 12:45

Could be either way - we’ve had that before, with it coming up sometime later. We’ve tested again and found it must have been a smudge. If there’s nothing in 30 mins I think the correct position is you treat as negative

gogohm · 14/12/2021 12:57

It looks like the chemical that would turn purple (but didn't). Get a pcr though to be safe

gamerchick · 14/12/2021 12:59

That doesn't look like a positive test. Can you do another one or just go for the PCR

Whitefire · 14/12/2021 13:00

You should not read it after 30 minutes, so that is not a valid result.

Warhertisuff · 14/12/2021 13:07

If it happened overnight, its not valid. I'd do another LFT to be confident... In the highly unlikely event that the test was genuine, any LFT done today should give a much stronger result, the virus having had 12 or so hours to replicate.

Wilkolampshade · 14/12/2021 13:10

My DD had one like that yesterday, then a big fat positive this a.m.

summermode · 14/12/2021 13:10

If you have cold symptoms, better to get a PCR.

Was in similar situation with faint line and the PCR is positive. Thought was a mild cold only. Unfortunately symptoms worsened later

CheesyFootballsAreEvil · 14/12/2021 13:11

Do another one. No point looking at them after 30 mins

DockOTheBay · 14/12/2021 13:27

I had exactly the same last night. I got a PCR test this morning to confirm and now my sense of smell is going so I think its likely to be positive.

Ontopofthesunset · 14/12/2021 13:30

The last test I did very clearly said not to read after 20 minutes. If the correct result was going to show up 12 hours later, don't you think the instructions would be to read the test after 12 hours?
