Vaccine wanes after 12wks?

Dr Susan Harris at the science committee today:

“ She says vaccine protection wanes after 12 weeks, which is why the booster jabs have been brought forward”

What does this mean? That we’ll have to continue to be jabbed every 3 months or so??!

‘Wanes’ could just mean you are however much % less protected than you were before the 12 weeks were up. It doesn’t mean that you have suddenly lost all immunity.

This is pretty much standard for a coronavirus.

It's why people have the flu jab year after year (staggered to try and maximise efficiency over flu season) and why there isn't a vaccine for the common cold.

The boosters are a short term fix to try and get us through the winter
