Got booster yesterday - now worried I could have Covid?

I did a LFT yesterday morning. Negative. Then booster yesterday evening.

Yesterday I was a little sniffly, kids have had a cold (not covid) so just thought I was starting with that.

In bed now and cold and throat are rotten. Not done another lft or anything today but have been told today that two people at work have tested positive.

Of course at the vaccination centre they were very big to check that I didn't have Covid symptoms and hadn't had it in the last month.

Could there be a big problem if it turns out that this isn't a cold I have and it's Covid and I have had the booster at the same time? Worried I could maybe suffer extra with it?

Fingers crossed it's just a cold/booster side effects but wondering if anyone had medical insight into why you shouldn't get the booster close to having had Covid?

It's just because you can't distinguish side effects from Covid, so don't worry.

I got my booster on the Tuesday, started with mild symptoms on Weds and tested positive on Thursday...never got any worse and was back to normal in a few days

I got covid the same week I had my first vaccination, felt rough for a week but not severe at all. I wouldn’t worry, get a pcr tomorrow a look after yourself x

Ah amazing great.

Was worried the booster dose + actual Covid could mean I'd suffer double if my body was overloaded!

Hopefully just a cold anyway. But appreciate the reassurance.

Oops sorry for the double reply.

Really glad for the feedback.

Sorry that you had Covid at the same time as the boosters what bad luck. But glad you didn't suffer much.

My kids had it a month ago and I managed to somehow avoid catching it so hopefully this is just a cold and some vaccine side affects but PCR coming tomorrow anyway due to work cases.

I’ve just had my booster jab. Everything hurts and my throat feels like I’ve been swallowing razor blades. I’ll do a test, just so I don’t cause problems for anyone else, but side effects are pretty common I think.

I’m also worried - my middle son just got a faint positive on lft and I had booster only yesterday!! I had cold symptoms and sore throat yesterday but negative lft…

PeachesPumpkin · 13/12/2021 22:58

Same here. I had booster 2 days ago. I now have a sore throat, bit of a cough possibly (I cough a bit generally), maybe a bit of a headache but it could be because I am looking out for one.
LFT negative today and I am booked for PCR tomorrow but hoping it’s just side effects of the booster plus a bit of anxiety!

My 90year old aunt had her second vacc and the next day was confirmed as having Covid (back in March) She sailed through it with barely a symptom. We were worried it would belike a double dose but she was fine (had Pfizer)

CovidMakesThingsHarder · 13/12/2021 23:05

Get a PCR test as a contact/symptoms and then go from there.

AnotherMansCause · 13/12/2021 23:06

Same here, i had my booster on Friday, felt rough all weekend but DH & I have now both got positive LFTs. Didn't do them until Sunday evening though, he thought he just had a minor cold, I thought it was side effects of the jab. PCRs arriving tomorrow for all of us, DD is negative so far.

I had my booster back in November and then tested positive on a LFT the next day. I've felt bad ever since (almost four weeks now) and can't help thinking that my body struggled being hit with the booster and then covid in just 24 hours. But there's very little info about the risks of this and my GP certainly hasn't had any specific concerns linked to this and has said that my booster is still valid. So try not to worry OP
