DH Covid - infection on both lungs

Hi all,

My partner has been admitted to hospital today due to his oxygen levels hitting 88-90 and just not getting any better (day 9).

I did call them on day 7 but the paramedics said his oxygen levels were ok for someone with Covid and didn’t feel it necessary to admit him at that time.

The hospital have done a chest X-ray and he is on a drip antibiotics for infection on both lungs as well as oxygen. Just praying it doesn’t get any worse.

Has anyone else had family members hospitalised with this, does this mean pneumonia?

I have no idea what to think or how long antibiotics are given for to try to clear it.

I was like that in August. I was double jabbed and the diagnosis was covid pneumonitis. I was on various drugs including IV antibiotics and oxygen. In hospital a week or so. I was told that the vaccine made a huge difference to my prognosis.

It took 3 months but I'm fully recovered. Hopefully your partner will be the same.
