COVID vaccine booster whilst pregnant - thoughts?

Hey all

I had both my jabs pre pregnancy. I'm 16 weeks pregnant this week and have been offered my booster. I am going to speak to midwife about it tomorrow morning at my appointment, but just wondering everybody's thoughts on it.

I have friends who wouldn't get the vaccine when pregnant, they waited until they'd given birth before getting it. I've read some other threads where people have said after 20 weeks getting the booster will pass antibodies onto baby protecting him/her from Covid when born. Obviously nobody yet knows how true this is. So I'm just looking to seeing other peoples thoughts & opinions.

PLEASE NO ANTI-VAXXERS.. I believe fully in free speech and opinions, but I don't need to hear someone telling me I'm stupid for getting something put into my body blah blah blah.. your choice NOT to get it, and my choice TO get it!

Thank you everyone Smile

Got mine at 26 weeks. now 33 weeks and all ok. I asked midwives as just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and they said deff get it. Like you i had both before i was pregnant and was now coming up to my 3rd trimester with diabetes and worried about not being protected.

I have zero doubts i did the right thing. i find people worrying about the negligible, possible long term effects of the vaccines seem to ignore the very known effects of Covid in your 3rd trimester. plus also hope to pass a little onto my newborn

Lots of evidence-based information here: mobile.twitter.com/vikilovesfacs The gist of it is that there is no evidence whatsoever that covid vaccines in pregnancy cause any issues but lots of evidence that covid itself can be very nasty for mother and baby.

Get boosted now. Much much higher risk to you and baby from Covid than from the booster.
