Smell and taste. How long?! 😪

Can still smell a little. Taste is bland so probably toing to get worse yet! How long did it last for you??

I know what will be will be but only asking as I didn't have much taste last Christmas either so two years in a one is 🤯

It wasn't covid last year as tested negative. It was a mix of tonsillitis and also a wisdom tooth infection. I was using corsodyl and it killed my taste buds for a month as damaged my taste buds 😪

I had covid in August and lost my taste and smell completely and since then it's minimally recovered. I can taste sweet and salty but not so much individual flavours any more.

As for smell, everything smells disgusting. Either like rancid perfume or dirty dishwater.
It's the most bizarre thing I've ever experienced and actually makes me quite sad some days.
I can't smell the difference between perfumes I love they all smell the same awful sickly sweet smell.
I really hope it's not permanent.

I too have been sniffing the Vicks daily.
Total loss of both on day 4 of positive test.
Things started returning after about 2 weeks but in a weird way. I can smell the first few sniffs then nothing. Same with taste - first few mouthfuls. Better than nothing! Nothing was awful so I feel for those still without.

It's so odd, isn't it? Like a sweet, chemical, artificial smell that masks everything.

19 months so far for smell.

Same as my gran's taste :(. I feel so sorry for her, she used to love her food and just doesn't enjoy it anymore.

I had complete loss of taste and smell, it was awful ! Went on day 3/4 and came back completely yesterday! So only lasted around 2 weeks

Me too. I wasn't bothered about taste but my god, I missed my sense of smell.
