I hadn't realised that the rules were different about the Omnicron, but this year group has been told to stay off until after the end of term.

The rules change again tomorrow so suspect they will be back in
From tomorrow close contacts can keep out of isolation as long as they do LFTs for a week.
That said nobody can get LFTs at the moment

Cupcakegirl13 · 13/12/2021 15:49

Does this include children as our school are saying this only applies to fully vaccinated adults ?
DS7 is currently isolating due to being close contact of a suspected case and isn’t allowed back tomorrow despite negative PCR/LFT’s 😩

@Cupcakegirl13 Here is the actual guidance- send it to school as they are wrong www.gov.uk/government/news/daily-rapid-testing-for-covid-19-contacts-launches-this-week
Frazzled2207 · 13/12/2021 15:57

From the guidance

Daily rapid testing applies to all contacts who are:

fully vaccinated adults – people who have had 2 jabs
all children aged 5 to 18 years and 6 months, regardless of their vaccination status
people who can prove they are unable to be vaccinated for clinical reasons
people taking part, or have taken part, in an approved clinical trial for a COVID-19 vaccine

So the "school years closing" turns out to be X2 year 4 classes and they are likely to be able to go back in this week anyway.

Sensational article.
