Help, locked out of booking system!

I tried booking my booster jab, but the NHS website crashed at the very last confirmation page and I wasn't issued with a reference number via email/text.
If I try and book again, the system won't allow me to do so - I can only edit my booking, but I can't log in as I don't have the reference number! Should I show up anyways, even without email? Tried calling 119 but it is virtually impossible to speak with anyone at the moment...

I’d just turn up if you can’t get through to 119 to confirm. They should be able to check you in without a booking reference. They just asked my date of birth and name to find me in the system. Best to confirm if you can though. But the fact it’s not letting you book is highly suggestive that it worked.

Thanks @IndigoC. I finally managed to get hold of 119. The guy said it won't be possible to have the jab without the reference number and I should just wait for my appointment to expire and then book a new one.
Sorry but this is crazy! It's basically saying they are happy for slots to go to waste!

Not everyone takes their reference number. I’ve had some incorrect information from 119 before. Can you ring the vac centre to check? Although except their super busy.

How frustrating! I would’ve thought 119 could look your booking number up for you, if you have one. I’d still be tempted to try going. Will depend on the vax centre as they all seem to use different rules. My first two they asked for the ref but for the booster they didn’t, just my name and DOB. That was a pharmacy.

If your appointment is a while away you might be best finding a walk-in.

I’d definitely ignore the 119 guy. I’m sure I didn’t have a reference number for my second jab. Turn up at the appointment. If the pitiful advice on the phone is to let the appointment expire and then book again, then you’ve nothing to lose anyway.

I arrived for my booster on Thursday without my reference number. The woman checking me in just asked for my date of birth. No problem at all

Angel2702 · 13/12/2021 16:52

I have not had my reference number for any of my vaccines or those for my kids, didn’t even have nhs number just used date of birth each time.

IWannaRock · 13/12/2021 16:54

I've never been asked for my reference number! Just go along and see what happens

gogohm · 13/12/2021 17:01

Just go, your name will be on the list

Bibbleybetto · 13/12/2021 17:03

My booking email didn’t come through until the next day and it wasn’t as busy as now, hopefully your email will arrive too by tomorrow
