LFT-where do you get yours?

I’ve just tried to order some via NHS site but none available. We will be getting through our sons school stash pretty quickly with all of us doing LFTs. Where else can you get them?
Thanks

Pharmacy

ScarlettSunset · 13/12/2021 10:56

I've only ever got mine online but I've also just got a message saying there are none available. I find it a bit concerning. Never had any trouble getting them before

Lucythewonderdog · 13/12/2021 10:56

Get a collect code for pharmacy pick up.

There were none in our local pharmacies yesterday but I ordered some from the NHS last night & they arrived this morning.

LindaEllen · 13/12/2021 11:07

Tesco pharmacy :).

Chickpea22 · 13/12/2021 11:17

Thank you all for the info. Really useful. I’ll try some of those options and wait a bit if none of those come up trumps.

They have some at my local library

Wigeon · 13/12/2021 11:22

Our nearest pharmacy has them - you can just walk in and ask, no need to order.

Baboutheocelot · 13/12/2021 11:23

The gov.uk website, they come the next day.

kittensinthekitchen · 13/12/2021 11:26

We just pick up a couple of boxes at the chemist whilst picking up prescriptions. You can just walk in and ask for some.

Also get offered some at the local walk in testing centre.

teablanket · 13/12/2021 11:30

They've had people handing out boxes of them in my local shopping centre recently.

RedToothBrush · 13/12/2021 11:31

Thats priceless.

Government: "Everyone use lateral flows. Any one who is a contact of an omicron case and is double jabbed should use lateral flows daily"

Public "Ok then"

Government "Oh shit, the NHS appear to have run out"

Public "Now fucking what?!"

Calmamongthechaos · 13/12/2021 11:32

The next thing being stock piled…a colleague of mine remarked the other day that it was annoying that you could ‘only order one box a day per person’…not sure why they would need to order on consecutive days for a two adult household 😬

RedToothBrush · 13/12/2021 11:32

Nope. They don't.

They've run out.

vera99 · 13/12/2021 11:34

There are no more home tests available
Sorry, there are no more home test kits available right now.

Try again later.

Or, you can go back and try to book a test site appointment instead.

emmathedilemma · 13/12/2021 11:37

I usually order them online but the PCR test centres here usually have them as they always offer you a box or two on the way out.

Thethreecs · 13/12/2021 11:42

I'm in Ireland and we have to pay for ours. They were 8 euro each and they brought the price down last week and you can get them from 3 euros now, which is much better as we used quite a few being a family of 7. Dds school requires 3 tests a week so she uses the most, thankfully they work out now 9 euro instead of 24 euros a week. Lots of places sold out last week, her school would not accept her back without one done so I brought her into Boots here for a LFT and they charged 35 euro!! Won't be doing that again.

NightmareSlashDelightful · 13/12/2021 11:44

Hopefully a short-term supply problem because the press and politicians have spent the last three days frothing everyone into a state of terror and now everyone wants to test every 35 minutes.

ScarlettSunset · 13/12/2021 11:50

I've had to order on two consecutive days but in my case it was because the postie popped them through the letterbox of the empty house next door. I only knew what happened to them when new people moved in and brought them round...

SergeiL · 13/12/2021 12:05

I don’t believe you can walk in and pick them up from a pharmacy in England any more. You need a collect code.

nordica · 13/12/2021 12:16

It's probably a bit like soap and handwash running out in the beginning of the pandemic - suddenly everyone who never used a LFT before has rushed to order them online. Hmm

I've never had a problem ordering online before and have been doing that since around March this year, so hopefully it's a temporary issue.

Ditto, ditto and ditto.
Chickpea22 · 13/12/2021 15:10

Got them very easily at a local pharmacy. Got the code as suggested up thread x

We have used LFTs consistently but DH has just tested positive so the rest of the family are doing dailies so obviously getting through a fair few! I would imagine many people are in the same boat.

What's the reasoning for that?

As far as I know, we can still just pick them up here; haven't heard otherwise.
