She had all the classic symptoms, others she was with that she worked in close quarter with all got it, same symptoms, and one of them had it confirmed in hospital, so she just knew.

My whole house had covid at the end of August and into early September. I would assume that was Delta. Both adults double vaccinated. This week my husband has tested positive again, just 101 days later, classic omircron symptoms, and really quite poorly. Praying I don't catch it but I can feel a tickle in my throat, not looking forward to tomorrow's LFT.

Thanks @Delatron for your anecdata. That’s really interesting as well as reassuring!

actiongirl1978 · 18/12/2021 17:56

Me.

Have covid late August so Delta.

Got PCR pos last week after a day in London on the 10th.

Have three jabs.

Feels very different to delta. None of the sickness or vertigo or loss of taste smell.

Literally just a cold and a hacking cough.

walkingonsand · 18/12/2021 23:37

So many interesting situations, it's seems like the answer is yes they are!

This is highly annoying as dd just had these symptoms, tested negative on 5 laterals and on pcr, so now everytime we think we have a common cold we are going to have to test.

I'd be interested to know if you can catch Omicron within 90 days of having Delta.

Suspiciousmind20 · 18/12/2021 23:53

Me too Gertie75. I haven’t seen any data on that yet.

maltravers · 18/12/2021 23:55

I’ve had two AZ shots (almost wholly ineffective against omicrom it seems) , caught COVID just before my booster was due (almost certainly delta) and not allowed a booster yet, so it feels like I’m effectively unvaccinated against omicrom. Rather alarming!

Emerald5hamrock · 19/12/2021 00:49

Echoing other's I hope not.
I'm on my 3rd week of delta I'm exhausted, I thought it would be easier with the double vaccinations.
It's miserable.
Flowers for all who have been ill.

InglouriousBasterd · 19/12/2021 01:23

Yes - DD has delta end of October and has now tested positive after omicron case was in her class. Can’t quite believe it - poor kid.

InglouriousBasterd · 19/12/2021 01:24

Well under 90 days here.

Emerald5hamrock · 19/12/2021 01:27

@InglouriousBasterd Awh no, poor kid is right. I hope she recovers quickly.

walkingonsand · 19/12/2021 15:18

Sorry for all the rubbish people are having to deal with at this time of year..... do we know if Boris is doing an announcement today?

TheCreamCaker · 19/12/2021 17:46

I hope not - I had Delta in July (I'd had 1 jab then) and was put on a ventilator for 2 weeks, during which time I got Pneumonia and had a stroke. After 6 weeks in hospital, then physiotherapy at home for 6 weeks, I'm 95% back to what I was. I certainly wouldn't want to end up in hospital again.
