If you had Covid, how long did you have off work?

Currently got Covid - not ill as such but utterly exhausted from even minor tasks. The thought of a full day working from home seems too much.

But everyone else at my work who's had Covid has mostly carried on WFH throughout and I feel like I'm being a wuss.

If you had Covid, how long did you take off work?

I can't work from home so I had the full 10 days.

ChristmasCatBells · 13/12/2021 08:56

I worked from home with no time off although could probably have done with a day off in reality but was very busy.
A lot of my colleagues have had time off.

Paddingtonthebear · 13/12/2021 08:59

4 days

IWishTheBishopWell · 13/12/2021 09:50

7 weeks followed by a 4 week phased return.

Other colleagues had less and some who were hospitalised had more.

Two half days. Woke up each day feeling ok then felt rubbish after 12pm or so. Switched off and went to bed. This was in February pre vaccine.

Two and a half weeks, but think I went back too soon.

LaCerbiatta · 13/12/2021 11:02

3 days but attended a couple of urgent meetings

I haven’t had it but of my colleagues who have, one had it badly and was off for a week, others a day or two. Some were totally asymptomatic so no time off at all. It seems really variable how it affects you, so don’t push yourself beyond what you feel well enough to do.

MrsMcCluskeysCat · 13/12/2021 11:07

I have had it but there have been 7 people in my team who have, we WFH and all had between 0-3 days off.

Didisquat · 13/12/2021 11:08

I had 2 extra days after my 10 days was up but they made me get a doctors note for that, I was just exhausted and could have done with longer really

MrsMcCluskeysCat · 13/12/2021 11:08

Just to add if someone needed more time off though we wouldn't bat an eyelid, I would hope by now that everyone understands how much it can vary between people!

If you're ill, you're ill. It's ok to take time off and rest. Don't feel guilty about. And covid affects people in different ways.
