Booster on the 24th December

So, I've been invited for my booster on Christmas eve.

I have full plans on getting my booster, but with 3 young kids, I really don't want to be unwell for Christmas day. The vaccines made me feel super unwell last time and I'm wondering if it would be unfair to reschedule?

What do you think?

I'm going to rearrange. I don't think there are in walk ins in Wales but I'll double check.

I think you’re right to try and reschedule. I felt awful for 48 hours after mine, and actually worse on day 2 than day 1, which would be a Christmas Day for you.

RedHot22 · 13/12/2021 11:09

I would rearrange
I was ill after my booster and spend most of the following day in bed

Blueberry40 · 13/12/2021 11:14

Definitely try and get earlier at a walk in appointment. I had mine yesterday and been up
all night with fever and body aches, feel awful today. I know it’s important but would avoid feeling like this on Christmas Day if you can!

I would reschedule

I would reschedule

Problem with doing walk ins is that you have to be prepared to queue / wait - very difficult if you have caring responsibilities

TheChosenTwo · 13/12/2021 11:20

I’d reschedule or find a walk in if that’s an option for you.

emmathedilemma · 13/12/2021 11:21

I'd reschedule, I deliberately booked mine so it gave me enough days before Xmas to hopefully get over feeling grotty and pushed it back so I get this week in work done first (lots of deadlines!)

SagittariusDwarf · 13/12/2021 11:21

I'd definitely reschedule Just in case. I avoided the few days before Christmas when looking at dates for mine. I'm currently booked in for December 30, but might move that as I am due to work on nye.

blackberriesaretheonlyfruit · 13/12/2021 11:30

I'd reschedule if you could. My first two were ok no real problems but the booster felt like if been hit by a train that reversed and went back over. Not sure if it's because it was a different manufacturer this time but I'm still not feeling great from last week.

I get what people are saying but Omicron doubles every two days. There will be half as many cases around on 24th as on 26th. I'd get on with it.

Nidan2Sandan · 13/12/2021 11:44

Dont have it on xmas eve. I had mine on Saturday and can still barely lift my head off the pillow.

Started with chills around 3am sunday morning & severe body aches since then that are actually painful.
