Asymptomatic Covid but still exhausted

Had Covid about 6 weeks ago and was largely asymptotic - maybe a bit more sneezy and a tickle throat.

But I am still nowhere near back to normal. I'm having naps every weekend and feeling tired and drained all the time.

Is this likely to be an after effect of covid even though I didn't have symptoms? Or is it just all the other random viruses that have been going around?

Tiredness is a symptom?

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 12/12/2021 23:13

That's not asymptomatic covid. This is what covid is. For much longer than the 10 days isolation period for some people.

Fair enough! I suppose I expected to feel more poorly at the time but I feel worse now than I did during isolation

Post viral fatigue is definitely a thing.

Me and DH have just had a terrible cold/cough virus (not covid) and while we are both recovered from the cough, fatigue has hit us like a ton of bricks.

ODFOgrinch · 12/12/2021 23:46

I have covid at the moment and I'm sleeping 20 hours a day: it's my only symptom. So you having the same symptom from long covid seems completely plausible.
Hope you feel better soon. Sleep as much as you can and don't feel guilty.

MrsSkylerWhite · 12/12/2021 23:47

Then it’s not asymptomatic.

Treat yourself kindly 💐

I was very mildly unwell but the post viral fatigue was months, fortunately not dreadful but no "umph" to want to do anything and napping at the weekends!

This describes me perfectly!

Could just as easily be caused by another virus as Covid I guess as we've all had loads of coughs and lurgies this term.

Thanks all! Thanks

A friend had the same very minimal symptoms but the fatigue lasted weeks. She’s ok now. Fatigue is well documented with a lot of cases.

I agree about the post viral fatigue though I had a virus cold/cough/sore throat, fatigue etc ( neg pcr) it took a good month for me to feel back to normal.
