Have you and your immediate family had it?

Loads of people I know have had it.

Myself DH 2 Kids - Nope
DM and SD - Nope
Sister and Brother in Law - Nope
Brother - No
Brothers Wife - Yes

Does that mean anytime now one of us will? I'm absolutely useless when ill. I feel so sorry for myself and DH works away for weeks / months at a time. Not that he would be much use apart from cooking tea and getting the kids up.

I don't know how single parents cope when they have it. Unless they aren't wimps like me.

Northernsoullover · 12/12/2021 23:49

I haven't had it yet. Nor my 2 children. Nor my parents. My brother and his family just succumbed this week. I went to all the bars on Friday..Watch this space!

Staffy1 · 13/12/2021 00:01

No, none of my family has had it. My husband works in various schools, son goes to school and I don’t go anywhere. Have a medical appointment in the centre of London in a couple of days and really thinking about cancelling it rather than spend an hour and a half on public transport, but at the same time don’t want to put off this quite important appointment for too long. Bloody covid, when is this going to end?

Scbchl · 13/12/2021 00:05

Eldest daughter yes September 2021

Eight year old son tested positive tonight on lateral flow

Brother, his partner, kids yes two months ago
Sister and her husband and three kids only my 13 year old niece had it last month

JaceLancs · 13/12/2021 00:07

DD and her DP have had Covid twice now - DP, DS and I have not - unless we had it early 2020 when they only tested if you were hospitalised
One anti vaccer - 2 double jabbed - 2 double plus booster jabbed
No one felt that ill at all - although some of us have had worst side effects of vaccine than actual Covid!

Katie517 · 13/12/2021 00:09

No one in my family, husbands family or either of our large friendship groups have had it (including plenty with school/nursery age children) none of us have been hiding away either. The only people I know who have had it are a couple of work colleagues.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 13/12/2021 00:15

Yes loads.

DH and DS had it last month DH still not recovered. I had my booster and didn’t catch it off them despite being in the same house and looking after them both.
DSS away at uni - nope
PILs (elderly) - nope
DM - nope
DF - yes, in care home, struggled but pulled through.
Uncle 1 - nope
Uncle 2, wife and kids - yes all of them
BIL, wife and kids - yes all of them
Small minority of my colleagues
Only one of my friends has had it and sadly her husband died in ICU Sad

gsaoej · 13/12/2021 00:16

Me and my immediate family had it.
Sibling 1 had it (not from us)
Other siblings + family not had it.
Some friends had it.

Grandparents x 4 sets close to us = none had it. This is the danger coming with omicron imo. It’s going to infect the more vulnerable people in society who are not “out there” all the time as it’s more transmissible and Christmas is near. 60+ people have been more careful than under 40s generally. They generally can (though not all). Lots of 25-50s have kids in school or are working outside the home seeing people or socialising and have already been in the line of fire.

martim · 13/12/2021 00:23

Me, DH & 2DCs all had it
S, BIL & DN - all had it
B, SIL & 2DNs -had it (except B)
Both sets of GPS -no
BIL & partner - no.
SIL caught it in hospital (she works there), everyone else caught it from school followed by in house transmission.
SIL and 1 of my DC caught it last year, everyone else caught it past month.

Chishnfips · 13/12/2021 00:25

I don't know anyone who has had it nevermind immediate family.

MrsSkylerWhite · 13/12/2021 00:29

No. 17 in immediate family. Add in BILs/SILs and their children, 22. Not one case.

fireworkspirit · 13/12/2021 00:30

No, nobody in my family - me and DH, 2 dc, our parents, siblings and their dc. 14 of us, my siblings and I have dc who are in school or nursery, most of us live in London, all adults are vaccinated. We might have had it asymptomatically as we don't test regularly.

AuntieMarys · 13/12/2021 00:33

We are in.our 60s and haven't had it...we are always out and about in bars/ restaurants/gym etc and dh works.
I know 5 people who have had it, none of them badly.

SivvyPlath · 13/12/2021 00:34

Nobody in my immediate family has. Neither have me or DH (although I am convinced I may have had it in January 2020).

I don’t actually know anyone that has had it.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 13/12/2021 05:46

Yes, myself and DS had it at the same time. I'm a single parent. I really wasn't that ill so managed fine, I had no other choice!

anne2650 · 13/12/2021 05:52

Yes, I had just before I was due for the booster. I was poorly for a few days. DH and DCs haven't had it.
DH had Pfizer whereas I'd had AZ - I wondered whether he was more protected..

Sparkle275 · 13/12/2021 05:55

Yes all 5 of us in our house have just had it and just come out of isolation. Kids to young to be vaccinated. I'm double vaccinated and DH has had both vaccinations and the booster 3 weeks before he caught covid. No one else in our close family has had it.

FrenchyQ · 13/12/2021 06:03

Me, DH and Ds all had it a couple of weeks ago. DD is at uni and hadn't, it worries me she'll bring it home at Xmas as she's been going out alot and works in a nightclub.
None of the rest of my family have had it

rightsideoftheroad · 13/12/2021 06:23

@WarmthAndDepth you can buy an antibodie test relatively cheaply.

No one in my family has had it. In fact I don't know many people who have.

HelenaJustina · 13/12/2021 06:26

6 people live in our house. 2 adults, 2 secondary school age children and 2 primary school children.
One of each pair has had it. Two mildly and one with no symptoms at all (tested due to positive household member).

HelenaJustina · 13/12/2021 06:27

1/3 of our school population has been infected since September this year (staff and pupils).

WarmthAndDepth · 13/12/2021 07:07

Thank you, rightsideoftheroad. That's good to know. I'm pleased natural immunity is showing signs of holding. I've many unvaccinated friends and many of my pupils' parents have chosen not to get vaccinated, so this is good news.

GoodnightGrandma · 13/12/2021 07:09

No.

notacooldad · 13/12/2021 07:11

I got it after being double vaxed and was really poorly. I had 3 and half months off work and I'm still not right.
