Well that statement was a waste of 5min that I'll never get back. And tbh I'm not sure that anything he could have said would improve vaccination numbers here.

We've always been well ahead of the national average, probably because we have a sizeable older population (as well as being a very much predominantly white British community with very little ethnic diversity). Everyone I know who was eligible has either had their booster or waiting for their appointment.

Anyway, we're at (as a percentage of 12 and over)
91.3% first dose
81.5% second
49% third or booster

Should also add that the vaccinations seem.to be doing their thing as far as hospitalisation and deaths are concerned. We seem.to have just started coming down from the 2nd biggest spike since the beginning of the year, yet inpatients are far far lower than they were in Janurary (as in just over 1/10 the numbers we had in Jan when our rate really was only a little higher than it hit last week)
