Letter saying I haven't had my booster, but I have

VanillaAndOrange · 12/12/2021 20:23

I recently got a standard letter from the NHS saying their records showed I hadn't had my booster, and they would strongly recommend me to get one (not CV or anything, but in my 50s so eligible). When the letter arrived it was exactly 4 weeks since I had my booster. I went to a drop-in centre but I did give my NHS number and have a card to show I had it.

Is it normal for it to take that long for records to be updated? The letter doesn't have a date on it or a normal stamp on the envelope, but having worked for the Civil Service years ago I would assume it was sent out second class, so it could have taken a while to arrive.

I would consider phoning my GP's surgery to see if they could find out whether the booster is on my records now, but it's virtually impossible to get to talk to anyone there. DH has been trying to make an appointment about something that could (just possibly, not very likely) be skin cancer. He had to fill in an online form, which was nearly 2 weeks ago and nobody has got back to them yet. If they're not able to respond very quickly to a query like that, they're hardly going to want to check someone's records for a routine thing.

My concern is that I might not be offered the next booster, when it comes around, if the records don't show that I've had this one. I strongly believe in having these vaccines (please don't flame me if you're anti!) and some of my customers at work are quite elderly, so I want to do everything I can to protect them too.

Do you have the NHS app? If you do, it will show on there as the result/confirmation is unique to your NHS number.

If it is not on there, then I would suggest you call 119 which is the NHS Covid line and they should be able to help you from there.

Submariner · 12/12/2021 20:30

There have been big delays with the post recently too. I imagine it's a standard letter that's taken its time to get to you.

VanillaAndOrange · 12/12/2021 20:30

Oh, thank you! I don't have the app but could probably get it, or the helpline sounds like a good call too.

I kept getting letters saying I hadn’t had my 2nd jab when I had.

My NHS app showed both jabs fine so I assume various departments hadn’t linked up

butterflyfox · 12/12/2021 20:37

I had had the same letter and text and I had my booster early November. Just checked the app on advice of PP and all three are logged there.

milly74 · 12/12/2021 20:53

I had a text saying not had booster - had it mid November! Think random texts and letters going out to ramp up pressure god knows what its all costing

annlee3817 · 12/12/2021 21:03

My MIL has been told she hasn't had her second vaccine and therefore can't book her booster, but she had her second back in June and she's still trying to resolve it. Such a pain 🙄

Same here, text from nhsvaccine saying their records show I haven’t had my booster, when in fact I had it mid November and it shows in the nhs medical record app.
SW1amp · 12/12/2021 21:12

I had this with my second dose and got stuck in a nightmare loop with the GP and 119

Eventually I just went back to the vaccination centre and showed them my card, and they manually re-entered the details on the system, and it was on the app within 24 hours

I had to go to the centre a couple of times though, because they were only letting people with appointments through the door the first time

Second time was fine and it was sorted very quickly

Azerothi · 12/12/2021 21:15

I wouldn't trust the NHS app. It shows I have had 2 primaries and a booster. I haven't. I have had 3 Pfizer primaries as I am seriously clinically vulnerable and extremely immunosuppressed.

milly74 · 12/12/2021 21:16

my booster is on my records just ignored text saying I'd not had it.

Icanseeclearlynow12 · 12/12/2021 21:19

I'm in the same situation with my 2nd dose @SW1amp
Thought it would be easy to rectify but 119 telling me to talk to GP who is impossible to get hold of, nightmare as I really want my booster!!

Theredjellybean · 12/12/2021 21:21

I had booster on 17 Nov and its still not showing on my nhs app.

bigbluebus · 12/12/2021 21:24

I had my booster - it showed on the NHS app the next day. A week later I got a text from the NHS inviting me to book my booster. They don't seem to have the systems all linked up no shock there

senua · 12/12/2021 21:25

Same here. Text and e-mail saying that I hadn't had the booster, despite me having had it a month previously.
I phoned the GP surgery (who did the booster) and they weren't concerned. I asked if they could update the records but they weren't interested.

mumofEandE · 12/12/2021 21:26

Yes I got a letter recently saying I need my 2nd dose but I've had it - shows up on my App too!

They've probably done that to stop alerts coming to you.
ilovesooty · 12/12/2021 21:30

Mine is showing on the app but I've had an email saying I haven't had it.

Mrshook · 12/12/2021 21:34

My husband had this for both his first and second jabs. He went back to the centre with his card and they got it altered. He got nowhere trying to ring and get it altered himself.

itsgettingwierd · 12/12/2021 21:38

I was also going to suggest app. I've found it so useful for many health related things

itsgettingwierd · 12/12/2021 21:39

Oh and this reminds me even though I had my flu jab at boots and it's on my app I've had numerous texts and letters saying o can book it from gp!

VanillaAndOrange · 12/12/2021 21:46

Thanks to all of you. I have now installed the app and discovered that the booster shows up on there!

I received a text saying the records show I’ve not had my booster (had it 4 weeks ago) but it shows on the NHS app that I have.

NMC2022 · 12/12/2021 21:57

I keep getting texts (I'm eligible for a 4th vaccine but not yet!)

Letter saying I haven't had my booster, but I have
Topseyt · 12/12/2021 22:12

I had my two Astrazeneca jabs in February and April this year, and then my booster (Pfizer) on 30th October. All show on my medical records via the NHS app

Last week I got a text and an email saying that I hadn't had my booster and should book it asap. I think the systems are not completely married up.

I have ignored the messages.
