New symptoms 2 months after +ve, do we retest?

Can I check what we need to do? DD tested +ve in oct, isolated etc, she recovered. Now, in the last day she has got a blocked nose and cough. She has a sleep over tonight and party tomorrow planned. I’m trying to find the info on the gov site regarding whether to retest her or not as it’s less than 90days. I’m sure I heard we shouldn’t retest within 90 days but now I can’t find it, so I’m not sure if the advice has changed? Does anyone know? Thanks

If you have new symptoms you are meant to retest but there’s a chance the pcr will pick up old infection .

Yes the site is clear that new symptoms require a new test. www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection

Scroll down about half way to the 'Testing after your isolation period has ended' section.

I had this recently with DD. Had a temp, needed a PCR as new symptoms even though she tested positive about 6-7 weeks ago.

Fortunately it came back negative - was worried if she got a positive, we would have had no idea if it was actually a new infection or a through back from the previous one.

I think they say 90 days if you are asymptomatic because you CAN test positive for all that time rather than it being a given.

We were told not to retest before 90 days… this was before omnicron tho
